We won't see FFXIV on the Wii U, as it isn't looking likely at the moment we will even see it on the PS3.

This game hangs on a very precarious ledge right now, and until they get things sorted, I wouldn't hold your breath on it's future.

For 7 years I've been waiting for a console that could pull off what Crystal Chronicles and Zelda Four Sword Adventures did. Nintendo completely delivered in my opinion and has the potential to make my dream come true. I'll be watching this closely until next year's E3.

The FFXIV won't go to Wii so you can forget about that. If it come will be to PSvita as an extra to the game like doing mini-games like chocobo races and pet/raise (like tamagochi) to get gil or other things, or since craft isn't complex we could craft without image and only with windows. There is many possibilities.

My question is if we could get those functions and don't have the game for PS3 but for PC only.

your really suggesting that it would be more likely that FFXIV would come to a handheld device before a new console.....yeah -.-

all SE would have to do is offer a HCSD card with FFXIV for WiiU and the problem would be solved.

What makes the speed issue such a huge concern for me is that, assuming Nintendo offers serious online and DLC support, the Wii U is likely to be the worst console for both because the low read/write speeds of the supported storage formats are going to translate into longer loading times, and it'll get even worse if large amounts of patch data are involved.
Honestly playing from a USB drive and SD makes no difference trust me. The 192MB speed of sata means nothing at all. I used to play WOW from a WD USB drive and i didn't see any difference from when i was playing at home directly from my SATA hdd.... none at all. As per the download content... you forget the your internet speed will never download at 32MB/sec so the difference in speed between usb hdd and SATA in that scenario does not matter.

I don't consider a game hardcore if there's no incentive to replay it. These two things are based on OPINION. which differ's from person to person, there isn't even a set definition for hardcore gaming. You shouldn't call people dumb when they don't give a crap about your nintendo fandom and their just hear to talk about their opinion about nintendo wii u on e3.

Not being a fanboy at all, i just hate stupid comments. An hardcore game is not what YOUR opinion is. It's actually an official definition to define a particular type of game aimed at "hardcore gamers". You say your definition of an hardcore game is the replaybility factor? So in that case.. mario party could be considered by a lot of pple to give a good incentive to replay it as you put it.... yet nobody in the whole world besides you would consider that game for the hardcore.

And yes i write in bold cuz i like to do so.

You misunderstood me with the DLC. My concern isn't that it'll be slower downloading DLC, it's that heavy DLC content (or huge games that demand at least a partial install, like FFXIV) will be slower than SATA or the game disc, which will have a negative impact on performance when you're trying to load new objects, textures, and sound into memory.

Odd... I look up official definition for 'hardcore game' and it doesn't give me an 'official' definition that said that its a particular type of game aimed at 'hardcore gamers' It tells me to look at the definition of 'hardcore gamers'.

    Definition for hardcore game:
Hardcore gamer is a widely used term applied to describe a type of video game player. There is currently no unanimously agreed upon definition for the term. Some describe hardcore gamers as those whose leisure time is largely devoted to playing video games.
Anything I saw about 'hardcore game' usually goes into the 'gamers' themselves and one link I saw even said that hardcore gamers tend to stay away from consoles such as the Wii. Conversations I did find on 'what makes a hardcore game' always seem to end the same way as well which is basically that a hardcore game is whatever that specific person finds hardcore and isn't a specific type of game officially, but 'hardcore games' and 'hardcore gamers' depend on the person you speak to.

Actually many gaming sites also say hardcore 'in their opinion' is whatever they think it is. So yes it does seem that while a lot of people do agree that 'x' game can be considered a 'hardcore game' and due to that games within that category are labeled 'hardcore games', it is also dependent on the person playing the games and there is no 100% set definition on what a 'hardcore game' is.

I think the best quote I found is as follows:

If hardcore gamers are people who are in love with gaming, hardcore games are games made for those with that kind of enthusiasm. In other words, hardcore games are games that aren't aimed towards the mass market, the casual, the people who don't have that same affection for gaming as you do.
So it still seems hardcore, while some games have fallen into that label, is all about the gamer and the affection for gaming. So while yes some games do fall into what people consider hardcore, you can't tell someone that a hardcore game isn't about their opinion because to be honest gaming is all about the players opinion, what they like, don't like etc.

I’m sure you’ll say I’m wrong or stupid etc… you seem to be putting a lot of people down in this thread who don’t agree with you. In the end it’s all about an opinion and people are allowed to have those if others like it or not.

A million times this. In fact, couldn't the new MMORPG just be Crystal Chronicles?
