I'm sure that really warms their heart...
Yoshi's words were "sometime in mid-June at the earliest." You're assuming things that haven't been promised. keep in mind that software development schedules are notoriously difficult to predict. If they delay this patch in any way, which includes BS technicalities like "June 24" being classified as "mid-June" simply because it's not June 30... Then there is going be to some serious repercussions to say the least. A lot of players have a lot of faith riding on the hope this 1.18 patch brings, don't screw with us.
He also said patches were going to occur twice a month, in reality it's more like once a month. Perhaps it's the way things that are worded that causes these issues. Instead of telling us the earliest possible date, then being late (causing grief), tell us the latest expected date and then deliver early (causing excitement and renewed faith).
If when they turn the game around and all the current freeloaders start paying (lol) the game will fail and close if that is it's playerbase, the game does not have enough players to sustain itself. Especially how much it cost to develop, it needs a huge boost in numbers to even break even.Freeloaders? Aren't we all freeloaders by your analogy? After all, none of us are paying for this game. However, us "freeloaders" are people who have stuck with this game for a long time, and will become long-term paying customers if SE can deliver on their promises.
The game will only be a success if they can bring lots of new players in, if they can't do that the ones that have stuck with the game while you didn't pay a dime will make no difference at all, also really? sticking by a product that's free is in no way a sign of support at all.. they are doing you a favor not the other way around. It will still crash and burn, so yeah we/you are all freeloaders and don't really matter very much in the grand scheme of things.
The current playerbase are beta testers for a bigger audience they hope to bring into the game.
I agree that it would be nice to have a little communication offered to us. I think this may be the longest we have gone without any updates on the Lodestone since the game came out. Two weeks tomorrow, I think?
I don't mind the patch taking time, that's expected. It's not difficult to type up a letter, though, or to provide a glimpse of what is to come.
doop doop
I like reading the letters. I can't explain why but its exciting lol
Letters are great, but implementation is better.
Just all talk at the momentRather, it has been just all talk since Yoshida has come on board, but I get it, it takes time to pretty much redo the entire game lol. Still, I'm sadfaced.
I don't know about any letter from the producer, but Microsoft's currently ongoing E3 Press Conference is terrible.
(Tomb Raider looked pretty sweet, though)
How is it not support when you utilize their product and provide feedback? While we may not be paying our support in coin, we are paying it with time. Time is very valuable, and I can think of many things (or other games for that matter) that I could spend time on over FFXIV (which would be very detrimental, as once players leave, the chances of them returning are low). So yeah... This "freeloader" has provided ample support and they should respect that, along with every other player who has done the same.
I heard. Windows 8 looks alright, but I think they should have kept that interface to tablets. Its not meant for desktops imo. Looks like something Sony would come up with.
I haven't played any Tomb Raiders, wondering if I should >.>
