There is honestly nothing to spend gil on because all the decent gear is purchased off currency you farm from duties so how do people not save their gil? Like what are they spending their gil on these days? If you reuse your old gear from level 1-50, why do you still need to spend your gil? How are you not without gil? Just wondering. I'm guessing food?

but teleports and repairs are hardly ever that much gil. Like you can easily make that money back. How is 500-5000 gil a day expensive?

There are people who overcomplicate things and people who oversimplify them (you), you are leaving so many variables out of your comments concerning the market in later statements concerning gathering and crafting it's a real curiosity, things such as elevated competition, market glutting due to said new demand for housing gil, and massive undercutting as a result.

And before you ask I played the AH in FFxi for over 8 years, your assumptions that gil is so easy to come by marketwise seems to suggest that nothing changes when a massive new need for gil is patched in.

Might want to think that over again, the prices are too high for housing, this patch was botched.

Is it really hard to make that money back? 5000 gil is a lot? I'm truely curious. Because its takes about 15 minutes to make that back in my experience.

This is why keeping legacy characters was a bad idea. A couple of people sitting on hundreds of millions of gil and screwing with the housing prices. 4 mil for the cheapest plot on new servers, up to 40 mil for the cheapest plot on legacy servers. That disparity is ridiculous.

you do know that legacy server houses and non-legacy server houses are not the same and do not effect each other. Nothing that happens on a-legacy server will ever effect a non legacy server. There are no legacy characters on non-legacy servers.

I am on a legacy server, I started the FFXIV on its original beta and launch. No, I am not a legacy character because I refused to pay for a game I wouldn't be playing at the time the game was getting fixed, plus I found fun things to do instead of playing a game that would be overhalled in a years time. No, I don't have this magical legacy gil amount (last time I checked I had under 200k). However, I do not find it hard to make gil back from repairs and teleporting (omg crafting). Imagine that.

My point is that on legacy servers you have people who came into 2.0 loaded and/or took advantage of the AH early on and are now sitting on hundreds of millions of gil and inflating the prices of housing. New characters on legacy servers facing 40mil costs for small, grade D plots are not going to be able to get a FC house for months, while rich 1.0 players are gonna be able to get amazing plots right this second. For non-legacy players that are in just average sized FC's, this housing patch won't even matter for several months. At least 4 mil for a small plot on a new server is within reasonable reach.

no one came into 2.0 loaded because a large chunk of our gil was removed. I had 3 million gil before 2.0 and I walked into 2.0 with only 300k. Why do you keep trying to find ways to blame legacy people? Blame the devs if you don't like the way the game is, not players that havn't done anything but try to enjoy the game the best they can. And I'm not even legacy, I refused to pay for services I wasn't going to be using so no gobbie mount and no legacy chocobo for me, but I am not even mad. lol

Okat so 15 mins for 5k gil. Now you need to make about 100k a day to stay on track for your house in a few months. So now you have 20k and hour times 5 hours. There you go, set aside your first 5 hours of play EVERY day for you and everyone in your FC because they will gladly give you 5 hours of grinding each day and hand the gil straight over to you each day so that in a few months you can all enjoy a small house. Incidentally, have you seen what the small house looks like, so worth the second full time job for you and every member of your FC...so worth it.
