An Open Letter to Yoshida-san: Please Slice One Zero Off the Housing Prices

I run an FC on Excalibur and of our 85 players, approximately 20 still play regularly. That is an attrition rate of approximately 75% since launch. Judging by my viewing other company profiles of late, this is a common situation across the entire server and my guess the playerbase as a whole.

One of the things that our remaining players have been looking forward to as a goal for our FC was to obtain an FC house - it was something that brought players together and gave us motivation. We currently have pooled 2.6 million from our members to date, which is only about 10% of the required 20 million for the smallest, worst plot of land available on our legacy server. As many others have stated, without a low-level entry point to the housing feature, this has been extremely discouraging to those hoping to enjoy this coming content. I fear that even more of membership, and the playerbase as a whole will be discouraged to the point that they may stop playing.

Really? Because I'm pretty sure they never confirmed personal housing in the 1st place. They are still debating whether ppl get personal homes or just rooms inside the FC Housing

That sounds to me like it would be very affordable for individual players, like maybe less than 1M.

As for side rooms in FCs, that was from a Letter LIVE. Yoshi-P said they hadn't decided whether to give players private storage in the FC house, or just roll out personal housing, or somehow do both. It was a very pro-individual player comment. (I just listened/read the transcript again today, both official and unofficial.)

A redditor has complied a list of volunteered information from FC's across servers which indicates that very few FC's can currently afford housing at the listed prices:

On Excalibur, Please Be Careful has the maximum number of FC members (512) - and they have 25 million pooled according to their information on the chart. That is only barely enough to afford the smallest, worst plot. If this doesn't signal that something is wrong with the situation, I don't know what does.

Didn't miss the point. I said I AGREE that the price is too high and they SHOULD change it. However, all I am hearing for most people is "1st class large plot". It's like why do Small and Medium exist?

Edit: Also, I am waiting for 2.1 to see how much gil I can personally get in a day before making further complaints about it.

You know, I haven't once - not even once - asked to get a large plot of land. All my FC ever wanted was a medium sized plot. We can't even afford a small one.

Oh my god, will you please stuff it. They clearly stated that they are split between making it separate and making it a part of FC housing. They've outright stated that. Please stop trying to dig out of your hole. You dug it, live in it.

Again check your facts. They HAVE NOT DETERMINED if personal housing by definition is a room inside a FC House or if it is literally a seperate piece of property.

All that's going to happen is the larger Fc's are going to settle for smaller housing that was meant for the smaller companies instead of grinding for it and the smaller companies will be stuck without housing.

We have a very small but active free company. If the 10 of us pooled our resources, we have around 5 million MAYBE. On Ultros that isn't enough to get housing out of the gate. Makes me sad. I had really been looking forward to it. With housing being instanced I see no reason for these insane prices, especially of the "ghetto" plots. It feels like the game is kinda dropping a squat on smaller, tight knit Free Companies.

Um... It's not even an argument? The ultimate issue is the price is to high ( and I agree with). What I was saying isn't really pointing at the issue, but more about me seeing the "argument" based around that Large plot of land. (Which in the end makes me feel like most people are after the Large).

I do apologize though for assuming that everyone is buying a Large.
