Welcome to the Final fantasy community of know nothing know-it-alls...Hmm... 2 blm's is preferred now, not even considering the incoming patch. BLM are crazy DPS and even more so after the patch.
TBH, I have been playing since launch and haven't seen a single smn in a bcb static group. Our FC doesn't even have a DPS SMN. What SMN's we do have, they are sch's and they don't dps, ever. And of the other smn's we do have they only go SMN to SR wp/ak.
Just saying, they were in a bad spot before this nerf, now they are in a really bad spot.
Smn was in a bad spot... HAHA
If people preferred a BLM over a SMN before this patch then they are really clueless about dps jobs.
On a plus side we lose thunder but pick up blizzard so for wp speed runs we can put up our dots hit bane and then just spam the hell out of blizzard rinse repeat
Statics are most certainly not the situation in which I would be concerned for a SMN having a place post update. It was generally accepted among those who were into the mathy side of things that the class was fairly potent in its original state and while the loss of Thunder does sting a little bit, it is nothing that cant be adapted to in the long run. The ones you have to worry about are the pug players who will try to fit in with the perceived flavor of the month in terms of efficiency rather than broadening their horizons and doing a little research so that there aren't ridiculously asinine restrictions that SMNs may have to endure when playing in unfamiliar groups(you can liken it to the small stigma MNK had early on and such, or the cries of BRD being top dps when it wasn't particularly close to the top roost, though I digress...)
Mah.. the spell didn't work with bane anyway.. NEXT!!!!
Off-topic: Yamimarik, how did you become a hyur again? O.o

If you are in a static and you think that it will kick you because your class got nerfed, you shoud leave that static in the first place.
