Can´t get the Rank 5 Subscription reward at the 2.1 release?

I really don't get the confusion. when they first introduced the veteran rewards they specifically stated that as soon as you paid for a specific amount of time in a realm reborn you'd be getting the rewards for that time period.

NOWHERE does it state now that 'already paid' does not account for the newly released rewards (rank 5) so where the hell are you folks getting the idea from that people who paid for 180 days right away won't be getting those rewards right away?

1.0 is irrelevant in this calculation. only your ARR paid game time counts. (though you should be fine either way)



ps: I personally agree that the veteran rewards should have been handed out after the time period was over, but we all know .why. SE did it a different way

Using my sub as an example....

I'm up for renewal on Jan 15th. I only paid for 1 sub period so far, the 90 day one. Coupled with early access + 1.0 player time of a week or two (welcome back? I think it was called? also take into account the additional days because of server issues) + adding a ps3 code to my account (extra 30 days) puts me at Jan 15th. Now if you deduct 30 days from that (in my case let's use the ps3 code 30 days as the example) you'd be right around patch day for the 270 day reward. Of course this exact formula of subscription periods would only really apply to a returning 1.0 player who did not add a ps3 code to their account, and bought the 90 + another 180 in a few days. So yes it ispossible, but not for you sadly.

You'll get them in 33 days.

Free month: 9/27 -- billing starts
Subscribe for 180 days -- receive up to 90-day veteran reward immediately
2.1 goes live: 12/17 -- receive up to 180-day veteran reward immediately
Next billing for 180-day subscribers: 3/27 -- those who subscribed for 180 days will need to subscribe for at least 90 days to receive the 270-day reward

Note that those who subscribed 180 days who had the free month (i.e. non-legacy) will have to wait until March next year to receive the 270-day reward. However, if they only subscribed 90 days, then their next billing is not at March 2014, but at Dec 2013, coinciding nicely with 2.1, so they can now subscribe for 180 days to get everything up to 270-day rewards in December.

TL;DR:

For non-legacy people who bought new package with 30-day "free" game time:
1. If you are currently on a 90-day subscription, about to expire, you can put down a 180 day subscription next, to get all the veteran rewards right then.
2. If you are currently on a 180-day subscription, you will get everything up to the 180-day veteran reward, but after that you will have to wait until next billing time. OR, you can put in additional game time via game cards, if you are able to get them.

Well I signed up for 90 days and my sub is coming due on January 3rd. So If I resub then for 180 days that will put me at 270...I guess I got lucky on the timing of that. I wish when using a credit card they would let you pay ahead and not have to wait until your current sub expires. Dang it!!!!

This is honestly kind of absurd. They offer loyalty rewards and people want to pay way, way, way in advance just to get the rewards NOW NOW NOW. That was sure quite the can of worms they opened...

Makes me wish they'd offer a lifetime sub so I would just immediately get all veteran rewards they ever think of.

So that's the worst. The players that went all-in with the 180 day sub off the bat will have to wait the longest for the veteran's rewards.

I believe Yoshi said the sub payment options are retroactive, where he said it I can not find it. so those that subbed 180 from the start will at least get the reward for the 180 sub.

Now trying to get to 270 seems kind of silly if you ask me, not allowing people to add time whenever. Terrible business model.

Guess I'll have to wait til my 180 sub runs low for the 270 sub.

Personally that is bad, one should not have to wait 6-9 months to get their rewards, terrible terrible idea. It's a reward for "Loyalty". Overall I think its a great idea by giving people incentives to sign up for more than just one month at a time. All the other MMOs I have played, I'd usually pick the cheaper monthly option which usually meant going 3 or 6 months. But giving you something to sign up for, is better.

Yes, they haven't even added the files for those items in the game yet, I'm sure. They'll pop up in your mail once 2.1 comes live.

Terrible business model that they won't let you pay waaaaaaaaaaaaay ahead just so you can get your veteran rewards IMMEDIATELY NOW NOW NOW RIGHT NOW? While i'm certainly not against you wanting to give someone money whenever you want, they probably didn't bother do this just because they didn't think of it or they didn't think anyone would want to (booy how wrong they turned out to be). Every veteran reward up to this point has been and will probably continue to be misc. vanity items. Do you really need to have them RIGHT NOW that bad?

I personally would have been fine with this situation, were NA people ACTUALLY able to use "FFXIV official time cards" to extend their accounts to 270 days as of 2.1 launch.

EU and JP can, why not NA? It's bizarre that they region locked the time cards.

The argument isn't that we can't get the rewards, it is that some players can AND we can't.

I'd pay it. It was a selling perk for Star Trek Online when I went Lifetime over there. Any and all vet rewards that ever come out are instantly awarded to me.

I could care less about "now now now", but admittedly it was a nice perk for them getting my money as a customer. I paid for the time, they rewarded me for that time paid for XD

Why are you so angry or upset about this? If something is offered by the game designers what is wrong with the players wanting it? On another note....if you are paying for the time technically you are playing for that amount of time, it is not like we want something for nothing...we are paying and commiting to the game...it should be called a "LOYALTY REWARD" and not VETRAN maybe. If they never brough it up then no one would be coming to this point, but they did so players are naturally going to want it like they were promised and for the sub methods to mess this up is just frustrating. I am not angry...I will take them any time I can have them.
