So much butthurt
I don't see the problem. If you are gone for lets say 2 months(continue paying your sub), your rollback myth tomes will be roughly 2,400. Good luck keeping your sanity running WP speed runs to catch up.

I wouldn't mind if the weekly cap for ToM could grow for each week you didn't have a chance to play, kind of like a rested bonus. However if you aren't able to play you are going to get left behind those who are playing. IMO thats the way it should be.

I am going to have to agree with Omni here. I first want to say thank you to those in the Military who serve to protect this country. *applauds* As i do agree that giving rollover over Myths to those that dont cap them (and i have missed a few caps so i know how it sucks) not a terribly good idea, i think possibly making a philo item that allows you to raise your cap by 50 a use with a 1 day cooldown might work.Yeah, cause we all know there is zero content for people in 2.1 that don't have full Myth gear. The game is basically unplayable if you've been gone two months.
This would also be good for people in comas, people that don't have accounts yet, etc. No one should have to put any time into this game; you should just be able to log on at any time and have access to everything.

I think it's a good idea, for people in the services and whatnot it would obviously be great but even for me, I work 12 hour shifts and one week I do 2 days, the next week I work 5. After work I'm usually too tired to do anything more demanding than crafting so it would be nice if I could do most of my tome farming on my quiet weeks. A roll over system would work perfectly for me and I'd still be doing the same amount of runs, just on a more convenient schedule.
true, but as the system is now, you will be behind and have no way of catching up
The same thread came up on the beta forums from another person in the military.
"Yoshi give me legacy status, I wasn't able to pay for the game because i'm in the Army"
If you're not there, and you don't earn it, you simply DON'T GET IT.
It's along the same lines of; "I know I wasn't at school, or did any of the homework, but uh...can I get an A+ please I had to clip my dogs toe-nails!"
(I can understand your frustration, but this would just simply never happen)

Why force the choice? There's no damage done to those who do keep up and no advantage gained by those who fall behind.

It seems that the myth cap was to slow progress so people wouldn't accomplish everything possible a month before the update, get bored and leave. So if you get an allotment of 300 per week and don't earn it, the following week you can earn 600, then 900, etc... it wouldn't allow anyone to earn tomes any faster, just make up what they missed. Of course if a person unsubscribes, everything would stop. I don't see a problem with this idea.
I would also say to the OP, that there are always people playing on every level. So if you fall behind in gear for a couple months, it doesn't make the game impossible to play. Heck, if you have a good FC they should still be willing to run with you.
Fall behind? You do realize that you have at least 3 month to gather gears for coil, and with darklight gears you can do every single new content in 2.1 do you?
