His Art is so cute and livelly, just hope that him leaving doesn't mean he'll no longer work with SE.

He's stated that while he's freelance now, he'll still be doing work for Square Enix in the future. Whether he keeps his word or not, we don't know. It hasn't even been confirmed that he's returning for the Bravely Default sequel.
He did work for FF7 too.
He's done 7,8,10, 10-2, 13, and 15, Dissidia Parasite Eve, KH. Probably more...
I'm surprised not a lot of people like him. Lulu is one of the best designed character and her outfit
is crazy and original.
He's one of my favorite artists. As long as it not's Amano...
Different strokes for other folks I guess lol.

Eh don't worry about it it's a mostly western mentality that Nomura = "belts and belts" even though his art style is the more "realistic" for the settings he designed for. Heck, he was a lead art person for XI and I didn't see a sea of belts and zippers on every armor design. He did work for FF7 too.

I wish he was the lead for armor design in this game.
We wouldn't look like trash can's or Cult members.![]()
Greetings,
Many of you have already been commenting on the news as well as sharing the details from various sources about Akihiko Yoshida leaving Square Enix.
Don't worry, however! Even though he will be leaving Square Enix, he will still continue to work on FFXIV as usual, and you can expect the same great illustrations in the future.
If you're the type to shout out "pics or it didn't happen!" well... pics! Here's everyone checking out a new illustration by him. I wonder what it will be!
Akihiko Yoshida also sketched a picture with a message to everyone.
"Thank you for your continued support <3"

My favourite artist! ♥
Glad to hear this, as I expected he is going freelance and continuing to work with SE. This is a pretty common trend for audio professionals and not entirely unheard of for concept artists, even in AAA. Hopefully we will see Yoshida and Matsuno working on something together again!
No. Just no. Just no. No. Just NO!!!!
OMG. NO. NO. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. No.

I like Akihiko Yoshida, but I vastly prefer Amano's work. He's by far the best artist for video games out there.
