Loot\coil lockout, tome caps = robbery

If you're able to complete content in a few weeks, why are you required to pay for multiple months subscription to do so? SE saying these lockouts\caps are to extend content is simply saying, we want more of your money, but don't have the amount of content to keep you around.

For the people who are going to say, if people were allowed to complete content in a few weeks they would just complain there is nothing to do. Guess what? Those people will always find something to complain about. At least they can leave the game for a few months until new content is released, instead of waiting for a weekly reset, and complaining about that. I'm not even the type of player that completes content fast. I simply just disagree with how this company is trying to squeeze money out of people.

Lets apply this business model elsewhere... I take my car in for repairs, they tell me that it will take two days to fix. But then they say, well we don't have any other work for the rest of the week so we are just going to take our time on your car, keep it the rest of the week, and charge you for the whole week of labor. Sound good? If so, you're right at home.

If your going to say, unsubscribe, save it, I don't plan to. I'm not making this post to say I'm quitting. I would like to know if this is how other people feel. If I'm seeing this business model wrong, please explain. I would love to hear other peoples views.

Nobody put a gun to your head and told you to subscribe for multiple months. You can always pay month to month and cancel when you don't feel like it's worth your buck.

There are obvious perks for subscribing in bulk time, but you can get the same rewards for going month to month as well; you just don't get them immediately.

I'm going to complain that my 9 dollar cheese burger w/fries doesn't last me a month.

Welcome to MMOs. Apparently you're new. Or only played FFXI.

Ok, so a verbal contract you agreed upon.

    A breach of contract.

In contrast with FFXIV: You as an individual are acknowledging and agreeing with the EULA every time you login.
Now tell me, where in that contract do you detect a breach?

    I'll wait.

I dont remember any content caps in UO, EQ, AC, or DAoC... Apparently you're new.

OP -- I would equate the business model more to sitting down at a restaurant, ordering a sandwich, and having them bring you one bite every 5 minutes so that you could enjoy the full duration of your lunch without rushing through it. This also helps people who have 30 minute lunch breaks be less jealous of your 1 hour lunch break, as it appears you do not have as much time as you actually do.

I think you missed my point. Due to the lockouts/caps people have to pay for multiple months to complete something that would otherwise take them a few weeks. So they have to pay twice as much or more than it should cost them.

I understand what you are saying, but this is a bad analogy. I think a better one is going to the gym, but only being able to work a certain set of muscle groups each week. And once you worked the set, you can't even return to it for the rest of the week.

I am pretty sure this is partly an anti-poopsocking action and partly a way to prevent NEETs to get too much more geared than people who have other things to do and finally a way to make you keep subscribing for more than 1 week every 3 months.
