Akihiko Yoshida still doing artwork for FF14?

Its silly that some of you are worried about Nomura replacing Yoshida.

He could probably do a piece or two for FFXIV, but he actually directs his own games now, he's not going to become FFXIV's main artist.

Probably wanted more money. SE been putting him to work alot lately from all the ffxiv artwork, flying fairy game and sequel game. Just seeing alot of artwork from from SE bring out lately since release of 2.0.

Funny thing is Bravely Default is more Final Fantasy than the last two main titles, and is one of their best rated games in a long time.

I'm purchasing Bravely Default for the sole reason that Yoshida did the art for that game. I've been a sucker for his art direction ever since Final Fantasy Tactics and Vagrant Story.

And to be fair on Nomura, his designs have gotten better since the belts and zippers dark ages. At least the clothes the characters in Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy XV look... somewhat normal.

If Nomura becomes the art director for this game we will regain the ability for belts to be displayed and also gain 5 belt slots.

Akihiko Yoshida has done a lot of the FFXIV event posters over the years, but not all of them. The illustrations are generally in a similar style, such that most people probably couldn't tell the difference at a glance.

The Moonfire Faire 2013 art is AY's, but the All Saints Wake poster isn't. I can't quite make out the signature.

They should hire Yoshitaka Amano again but this time as a part-time character/image designer.
