It is the PC itself that is dated or slow. My load times are somewhat high, nothing major, but higher than average due to having a dated pc.
Your processor affects the speed at which you load a new zone. It takes less than 10 seconds for me, often less than 5, with an i7.
Either way, yeah, it would be nice for them to add that, but then it becomes unfair for the other people waiting on you to load a new zone on your slow computer.
Internet speeds affect how quickly you load too I think.
My processor is a AMD Athlon (tm) II x2 250 Processor 3.00 GHZ. Not the greatest ever. But it's not that bad.
Some areas load rather quickly. But the more crowded zones load very slow. Mordanna in particular. This zone takes me forever sometimes.
For me on PS3 it can take a while to load using teleport, and yeah I've missed out on the duty finder because of it. Zoning on foot isn't that bad though.
Takes me 2-3 seconds with the exception of Mor Dohna. PS3 doesn't take nearly a minute to load a zone.
There is a work-around for this. If you're using KB/Mouse, while the screen is still loading and you can see your chat log, press "0" on your keypad. You'll see a little arrow appear on the screen for seemingly no reason. Press it again and you will have bypassed the UI and accepted entering the instance. I know they need to fix it, but this is an easy work-around until the do. If you have a controller, you can do the same thing by pressing the button you normally use to click on something (as in, interact with things such as the summoning bell) and pressing the button twice. Once again, you should see the arrow appear after the first press and the second one will be you entering the instance.
Like I said, something is wrong with your conneciton. You don't need especially fast internet to play any online game. Just a few megabits is enough for any game I know of in existence.
You have an issue that needs addressing if any area takes so long that the duty finder can pop up and go away by the time you actually see anything.
this (kind of) happens to me alot. something about changing zone the DF loves. and while its in the background it seems to slow down the load screen. one 'trick' that works for me is hitting cancel to exit the DF pop-up and my new zone opens in normal time. even before i started doing this i never sat through a 45+ sec load screen
I've checked my connection Alhanelem. I am getting my maximum internet speed and it's more than a few megabits. My PC is pretty old though, so that may be part of it. Though I've upgraded a lot of its hardware like the processor and video card and it was over the requirements to play the game. But it can still take over 45 seconds for me to teleport into Mor Dhana.Like I said, something is wrong with your conneciton. You don't need especially fast internet to play any online game.
