I use both, personally. I find it much more comfortable to sit back and run around with my gamepad, but controls are much more precise in combat with a mouse and keyboard, at least in my opinion. So, I suppose, it is a little from column A, and a little from column B.

I'm confused by your advice - I switched from PS3 to PC, and it has improved my rendering and the delay between press-button and action-start. I will switch back to PS4 if it preforms in those areas similarly to PC - I was looking for gamepad/M+KB advice in the interim. Am I still misunderstanding you?
I'm sorry I think I misread your original post, because i thought you said you were switching from PC to PS3. Switching to PC makes total sense. I'm not sure why you'd want to switch to the ps4 version though. There are certain improvments being made to it but those will be available on the PC as well when DirectX 11 support is added.

Razer gear should be avoided in general. It's kind of like buying an Apple, you're getting some solid components but you can get the same stuff a lot cheaper elsewhere and it's a lot less of a hassle. You pay A BUNCH for that glowy logo.

The logitech lineup is pretty solid, like the G9x a lot myself.

Logitech mx518 is always a good choice for a mouse or the g500 which is basically the laser version of it

Get a razer death adder, awesome mouse. It has two side buttons.

You can program the side buttons to operate as whatever key combination you want and you can hold them. E.g. I programmed mine to alt + shift, and alt + shit + ctrl.

Then you can setup two new hotbars in FFXIV and bind the keys for each button to

    alt + shift + 1 through alt + shift + =
    and
    alt + shift + ctrl + 1 through alt + shift + ctrl + =

Then if you hold MB1 and press 1 it's the same as pressing alt + shift + 1, and if you hold MB2 and press one it's the same as pressing alt + shift + ctrl + 1.

That's what you'd think but you'd be completely wrong. The mouse has full customization so you're able to alter the weight, texture, and shape of the mouse. Find a review that gives this mouse less than a 9/10.

You'd have to be a true PC gamer to understand the purpose of a mouse like this.
