it's an example of the dev team completely underestimating the skill level of the players in the game. i'm not sure if you played in 1.0, but there were multiple examples of that there as well. perfect examples were garuda, moogle, and ifrit extreme.

garuda: when he put garuda in game he talked about only very few people would be able to beat it when it came out for a while. it was downed first night it was released and people had it on farm by day 2.

moogle: he went as far as to take predictions on how many weeks it would take to beat moogle because it was just owning his testers. 6 hours after it came out it was beaten which was including 2 hours of maintenance due to server crashes.

ifrit extreme: he talked about how difficult it was going to be and how few people would be able to obtain their first relic before the servers went down. not only were people getting their first relic, but there were ls's that had people with the full set of relic weapons before they went down.
