If this is true...I hope Sony gets them.
I own quite a lot of those on the list...the splash screens only say "Squaresoft".I don't know if this was pointed out, but I am just gonna go ahead and put this here. A not so long, long time ago we had this and some of the greatest games (I guess arguably) were released by two very interesting companies.

Also, if you still own any of your old copies and you play them and watch the initial credits, guess what. Square EA. Just sayin.

Just because it chronologically takes place afterwards and shares a few characters does not automatically make it a direct sequel anymore than...How is it not a direct sequel? It's the same world, with the same characters, and it occurs chronologically after the events of the first game and Advent Children (which, though not a game, is also a direct sequel). Also, the events of the game are directly related to events that occurred in said first game and movie.
The point is, SE has milked FF7 considerably more than any other game in the series.

was a sequel to...
Dirge featured entirely different gameplay. It was a spin off.

I doubt it sadly. It is not what the majority of the fans of that company wants. They release games targeted mainly towards western gamers. They COULD learn, but it would likely westerize SE's game some in the progress. I simply do not think Rockstar is in anyway better than atleast Sony.

how i feel for all of those companies (bar sony):

High quality western game =/= JRPG or other japanese style games. I do know Rockstar makes good games, but I think if they bought SE they would make their games fit their audience better. I can not promise that, but it is a likely result.

If you like SEs Games or not, you have to respect that they try new things. They don't always work, but they try them. If any of those companies buy SE you can waive goodbye to ever being surprised by game mechanics or story again. I know they work a lot with EA, but Bioware is who should be looking into SE. At least they can still tell a good story.

SO much truth and I laughed so hard. Thanks XD
I Have been a big fan of SE for a long time and I continue to be. I completely agree with that notion that they do try new thing and sometimes they hit it out of the park while other times they strike out. I think the OP was trolling and we really don't have to worry much about a buy out by a less creative game company. If you like SEs Games or not, you have to respect that they try new things.
