Yah, pretty much. We're hoping they put them in faster since the code is already there and because of events like the Lightning Returns that gave us all these cool weapons and the two costumes that no one is going to really wear because they are level 14 junk, stat-wise (run on sentence runs on). It may be a futile effort, but "it might not work" is never a reason not to try. Especially considering that if they add the vanity slots and bust out a cash shop type dealio for costumes, a lot of us would glad pay extra money for them. Seems like a money making opportunity they should jump on.

...hmm well as for the gil bug, what have you tried? Like uninstall and reinstall the game? Your characters are saved on the server so the only thing you lose would be customized settings the UI, and those are easy enough to reset.
We can already customize colors so why not be able to swap for different item with similar attributes? I don't really see a problem with that.

So any dates for when 2.1/2.2 will be released, and how the cosmetic change system will work will I be able to go into my house and freely change my appearance from there whenever?

They haven't given a date for 2.1 yet but they've said "before the end of the gear" which could be as late as the end of December.

- Free Company Housing (not individual) will be released in this patch. Personal housing was said to be released about 6 months after this patch. (so probably 2.3 if they keep up with their 3-4 months in between patches)

- 2.1 will be introducing the Aesthetician (beauty parlor) but it's mostly for changing hairstyles and stuff. You won't be able to make sweeping changes like your gender.

- 2.2 (probably 3-4 months after 2.1 releases) will have the vanity system to make it appear you're wearing one set of armor in place of another.

Nah, I am just looking for a 2013 RPG that offers 2013/2014 content which should feature things like stated in the OP.

The way I see it the Original Final Fantasy XIV was a failure, and the new one was much more improved but need a lot more work before release it.

I mean if I were a game designer making a 2014 game release like ESO, or Star Citizen, I would make sure to offer all these features on Release to all subscribers of the game, or if F2P Make sure they are included but sale additional content cosmetics, and such while allowing users to freely swap between their cosmetic pack unlocks.

Any game that doesn't have this I am not going to bother playing, only reason I gave this game a try a second time is because it was Free for a couple of weeks from purchase the original game.

I don't mind gender change not being included or race change I just want the ability to freely change the looks of my toon when I choose to for RP reasons, I guess I will just wait for 2.1/2.2 then I wont pay until I am sure these changes have came to the game and see them in action on YouTube or something.

I was really thinking about returning myself with quite a few of my old guild mates, but to be honest, we do not like the system that is being put into FFXIV. I am looking for a MMO that allows FULLY free to Re-Customize character appearance including Height, Skin, Body Morphing, Hair, Tatts, everything except for race and gender unless this is a paid feature of course for those. But I am not looking to have to visit a NPC to do this, I want the ability to be able to do this from within my own house in Final Fantasy and it costs NO GIL to do such.

Until then I hate to say it but I just came from Elder Scrolls beta, and I can't talk about the game, but I am likely just going to go there on release and play it because by the time FFXIV Devs get around to fixing this game to the point where I or my guild mates will want to play we are going to be playing something else where the developers got it right the first time.

It is too bad that there is no place to leave serious suggestions directly to the developers to ask them to do this, and to believe I actually had my hopes up for this game, well they might change it but I doubt it. If I am paying for you're game then I expect a great experience and good content, to me this isn't what I call good content.

OP what you call good content has nothing to do with the MMORPG experience. Armor / vanity armor is common enough now and is being implemented soon. barber shop is common and is being added soon... Body morphing.... this game doesn't even have much difference in large body morphs to begin with. its all small differences that total to make a big difference. and even at that I doubt youll see it. I think the "mmo" experience you should look to is Second Life. you can own your own home, shop till you drop clothes wise, and change shapes at will... if that's what good mmo content is to you then that's your spot. Good mmo content to the rest of the world is great dungeons, raids, group content, quests, zones... and I would prefer them to focus on that for the most part over body morphing in a home... FYI ESO, EQN etc don't have body morphing in a home either...
