Hard to say this unless you've seen the code yourself. The only problem XIV suffers from technical wise is the server side nature of the interface. Every other MMO chose against using one for obvious reasons.

I couldn't find it if I tried, but I'm sure a lot of the dev posts and reasons things have not been implemented (seemingly simple themes) have been because it's hard to code in the game, such as all these targetting changes taking so long, the battle system, etc.

The state it was released in, and how long it has taken to implement (what should be) menial fixes should give you a good picture of the technical quality of the game.

It's ok if it isn't a free jumping, a jump feature like the one in FFXIII would by nice.

This game has a lot more technical issues than a server-side interface. Even S-E has said the code is optimized poorly, which leads to the game consuming more resources than it should.

Because everything has to be built with it in mind, and poor optimization of the servers leads to poor optimization of everything. Guess people won't complain to high heaven about RMT ever again >.>

Jumping is not really a game breaker... I'm going to assume most played FFXI if your playing FFXIV and prolly for awhile... couldn't jump then why jump now... you can't jump in ANY FF game! go back to WoW or something i like the game the way it is =P well sorta

actually there was 1 ff game that you could jump on... it's Final Fantasy Mystic Quest... it's the ONLY ff game that has the jump feature in it. I think so that is... actually yeah Mystic Quest had jumping... it was pointless though. Unless you're counting the jump as an attack like the Dragoon jump which was in FFXI FFIX FFIV possibly 3 Cid had an attack like that in FFVII... But then i doubt you're talking about the attack
