    Just started getting this as well today. 1st time its shown up since launch. And when launcher does happen to show up I get script errors...

    edit: I get [30605][10009][10020] codes though.

    Edit 2: Launcher finally showed up, tried to log in and get: Unable to complete version check. [30410][30607][10009][10020]

    Im getting the same error message and its pissn me off... /sigh
    i was crafting with major lag then i tele to dragonhead camp and was stuck in the loading screen till it crashed and now i cant get in due to this stupis message.. come on SE wtf >.>

    See other thread about Win 8.1 and crashing. I think everyone pretty much needs to remove the last 5 Microsoft windows updates if they are running in Windows 8.1. My game started working again after doing that.

    I reinstalled the game, it still will not update. My update history shows that I do now have those updates installed yet.

    edit: I reinstalled again with firewalls/defender off, still get the error. I also removed all updates I have done since october, and i still get the same error.

    A full reformat might be in your near future. It's been my experience that once you get this error, it's extremely difficult to remove. I don't think it's so much the FFXIV client being bugged as it is crappy updates and coding from the Microsoft overlords.

    If you're feeling adventurous, You can try a couple steps below, but I give it low odds of working. Rolling back your updates or a fresh Win 7 or Win 8 (NOT 8.1) looks like the only reliable way to clear the issue:

    1.) Run everything as admin
    2.) Delete the Boot Folder and drop in known good files (Can find these on Reddit)
    3.) Drop UAC as low as it goes (User Account Control)
    4.) Uninstall/Reinstall
    5.) Registry Repair (Google search yields some good programs)
    6.) Set Registry to ignore any kind of admin check
    7.) Set files attributes to read only, Read/Write, back to Read only (try to load the exe after every change)

    If these don't work, you're going to want to skip the headache and roll back or reformat.

    I had this last Sunday evening and yesterday evening. Nothing worked last Sunday, but yesterday I tried connecting through a free VPN program and the version check worked, and I was able to log in.
    The program I used was HotSpot Shield.

    Fixes for this are very hit or miss for people, so just throwing this on the pile of things to try.

    it's like all of the other fixes as they are random and none seems to work for everyone. this leads to it being an issue with the se coding since it's not everyone on the same os nor with the newest updates. for example, i'm on vista 64 and haven't updated since before the issue started in october.

    I am finally able to play; "Go to your run box in your start menu on the pc. type msconfig. when there goto services. Then uncheck everybox but the microsoft services." This is what fixed it for me, for everyone else having this issue, I hope it resolves it for you as well.

    Edit: However since I reinstalled the game to try and fix it, it seems I know have to wait 3hrs for patching ;-;
