updated original post with notes and such. Just like to point out that I'm not forcing my opinion on anyone and that it's all just advice. I don't want a end-game focused player using tomes willy-nilly without information backed behind it. If you decide to get the AF2 chest because of (reason) then that's great, but this PSA is for those interested in spending tomes that will give them the most bang for their buck. I apologize for not making that clear from the get go and hope no one felt attacked or personally offended.

Yes. Even with full Allagan/AF2 gear with only SS on em you'd only be casting 1 extra Cure every 15-20 Cures or something along those lines. Considering you'll almost never stand still to be able to do that, it's just much better to get throughput...

But I think the DET's impact is very miniscule as well?

Based on Valk's calculator, the cure I heal difference between 245 DET (full SS ilevel 90 set) and 311 (full DET ilevel 90 set) is just 25, 1004 to 1029.
While we're at it, the difference in casting for these 2 armor sets is (from memory, I didn't jot down the data X_X) 1.89 compared to 1.97, difference of 0.08.

All in all, i think it doesn't matter much what iLevel 90 armors you're gunning for, since the impact is miniscule no matter what you choose (maybe crit is better, but personally I nvr liked crit stuff). But between SS and DET, I'm still leaning towards SS .

My heals are great having the AF body, the det is minor and in reality puts the heals up (on average as they change potency every cast) such a small amount, that it boils down to personal preference.

The Alligan body IMO is ugly and would rather loose the minor (like 1hps) and get the body. If you don't buy what i say get the zam dps parser and check your HPS with it.

To get ready for Coil on my WHM (as I swapped from BLM) as quickly as possible, I did that math. Skipping the DL cowl, using that philo for accs and going straight to the AF chest was a much better HP/s than relic +1, true SS isn't ideal but in the end one piece of gear being SS instead of det isn't much difference.

Plus you get to look pretty fly for a white (mage) guy.
