The lore in this game is just bad.

I have to say that this game has some of the better Lore that ive encountered over my MMO career. Everything is there for you to find and so far not a single contradiction to be found as far as my search gose. Hell even the quests that have you go kill X amount of creature Y have really thought out reasons as to why your doing so. The game is great and so is its back story and the world itself. You just need to look closer.

the story was amazing for.
the start was a little bit "slow" but since the Titan kill i wanted to play further and futher to see how the story goes on.

OOOH IT'S SO GOOD!! After a so-so story in FFXIII imo this is the next great FF story and it's just getting started. I really hope that this catches on so we can see more and more content. At some point I think it might go free to play or at least semi and I think it would blow up pretty damn good.

I could go on a great deal how much World of Warcraft's story offends me, but I'll just stick to one very important facet of it: World of Warcraft's story will always be confined to the fact that the game has two opposing player factions. Places, events, and characters will be forcibly changed (or just outfight killed off *coughCairncough*), oftentimes with contrived reasoning (*coughJainacough*), in order to continue to have the Alliance and the Horde to fight each other. The world and the story cannot be allowed to organically grow because the status quo can never be changed. That is why I feel WoW's lore will forever be inferior to XIV's.

I also disagree with your statement about poor lore as I have learned a lot about the lore. You even learn the Pixie Plums are extremely bitter until prepared a certain way.

Also, I remember the days of gaming when you ran and talked to every NPC because no one walked around with a exclamation point over the head.

you know we most likely haven't even scratched the surface in the terms of Lore yet. I know Anonymoose and Catapult are the top lore mongers here and technically since it's a relaunch of the game which stopped the lore reports when they decided to bring the whole game down with a huge meteor containing bahamut, they'll be putting more lore in as we go along. Reading the Lore posts from Moose and Catapult are fascinating as well as the confirmations from fern. Have some patience and there will be more and most likely better lore to come.

Troll posts in other MMO forums is the reason why WoW players still thinks WoW is good. If there are uninformed troll posts out there telling that WoW is better the average WoW player will belive it and never try any other MMOs and will live on in their fantasy bubble that WoW has things it does not have. A good story for example.

WoW does alot of things right, but the story is not one of these things. As someone above said. It could've been made by a 12 year old first timer DM and no one would notice the difference. What they did was to take the Warcraft lore and puke all over it.

But yeah, I guess WoW's story is better... If you do never read in game text and only external matherial :S
