I don't post much but I can kind of see a problem with this. This game is still in its beginning so enough new people are funneling in that doing the story mode Ifrit, the first time around for new players, shouldn't be an issue. However, once you get to a certain point, that flow of characters will drastically drop off. Whenever that point hits the current duty finder process would severely inhibit new players from progressing on their first in game class. Especially the ones that chose DPS. It will be interesting as to what they implement to combat that issue.

I've had to wait roughly 40-90 minutes for DF groups for Sastasha and Tam-Tara. I was lucky when I went to Copperbell because I found a tank online in my FC who volunteered to go with me, it only took us about seven minutes for the DF to pop with a group and it was such a great run. They're right when they tell you to find a good Free Company. I was finally able to watch the cutscenes with him leading.

I'm up to Ifrit and really hoping I can get at least a partial Free Company group for it so I'm not stuck in the queue hell other people have described it as. I reeeeeally want to get my Grand Company affiliation and start earning seals. I want to get my chocobo and then start dabbling in the Land/Hand classes a bit.

I'm looking forward to SE's adjustments in the planning for this - and hopefully it will improve things lol.
In the meantime - if anyone is on Midsgardsomr server and need dungeons - currently my tank or healer is up to lvl 22 or so ( my dps is 48 lols ) and you can hit me up if im on and I am usually up to helping ppl if im not in th emiddle of anything.

i strongly agree with that. A few more months and players won't even be able to complete the first few low level dungeons for story because nobody does them.

If you were on Coeurl, I would jump on an alt class to help you. Again, the 2.1 patch will help so much with this kind of situation as well as encourage people to use the dungeons to level rather than LOL FATES that don't teach class/group mechanics. I enjoy helping people with the lower level dungeons myself.

All I can say is find a good FC that is helpful (but please dont just leave if they cant carry you through right away, its rude) and you will have a lot more fun and progress faster. Oh and this game is child splay in terms of forced group content compared to the last.

I do like that they kind of force players to party up for some content while hitting cap because at the moment the Endgame content (Coil) is not in the DF so you will need to know how to be social lol.

Heya OP -- I'm on your server and I can party with you for those dungeons on my CNJ - she's lvl 22 atm. Just send me a /tell and let me know - if I"m on we can party up and do them. Queue for those for me is usually instant or at the most 5 mins. Let me know ^^

Even if this was a game breaking flaw, why would SE refund you for a game you got 30 hours of game play out of? There are much pricier games that take half that time or less to complete.

Story mode Ifrit has no rewards as you know, even the EXP is pitiful =/ so nobody does it twice.
Perhaps just a nice dungeon loot chest at the end would be nice?
But its nice to take photos there :P

Yeah, I had the idea that the story mode primal fights should drop level appropriate accessories just to get people interested in repeating them. Or even just toned down versions of the primal weapons...

When more people have reached end game and the game itself has reached its maturity SE can always change the "forced" short dungeons like Ifrit and change them into something like a duty where NPC's can help you. They have seen the problem with the DF only thing we can do is wait and see if its enough to entice players to do the lower dungeons. Also above poster has a good idea. They could always give toned down rewards for those bottle neck missions. It doesn't have to be a weapon, maybe a special accessory that can be rolled. You know people will want it :3
