Replace the anima system with the outpost warp system like 11, I know myself and many others that spent plenty of gil on this, and hey, it has a nother added bonus, no one is complaining about their anima running out.

Usually around the 20-30ish area you start getting gil at a pretty good rate.
It's nice that the devs are going to try to get rid of the gil, but at the same time when you need to factor in new players, RMT, etc. I'll be surprised how well they can pull this off.

You know, going along with what I've said in LS chat. I'd love to see Temples designed around each Guardian, quests pretaining to them, special weapons/armor specific for each Guardian, etc. But among those things, also an NPC who will give you Aspect for a Gil donation to the temple or Anima for an npc elsewhere, would be a welcomed sight. 10k per Aspect is a fair price, no?
For the sake of not creating a double post (are those frowned upon here?)
Getting gil isnt nearly as difficult in this game as it was in XI. Even if you arent a crafter, you can still manage fairly well. Alot of hides have decent vendor rates and arent hard to get, guildeves drop pretty decent gil rewards when you get into the 20's, which you can start doing around r15 and of course main storyline quests give gil rewards, the one I just completed last night was a little over 100k and isnt the last one in the system right now. Go back to XI, the last mission for the main city storylines, 100k is the final gil reward.

They can fix this without rolling back players gil or hating on crafters like most of you seem to do. Inflation hit ffxi very bad at one point and they removed RMT and bots bringing it in. Shortly after everything went back to normal.
I also vote for a gambling type system like gold saucer. Give us something fun to do with gil instead of just buying gear.
Crafters aren't the problem inherently. It's that the gathering system is so broken that none of the profits of making anything go to gatherers who make it possible. It all goes to the crafters. Combined with a decent amount of top crafters being cheaters because the risks far outweigh the benefits, and you have a population similar to RMT that will be a direct cause of gil inflation.
They will raise prices so you can't afford them. That's the RMT's secret recipe, but it's not unique to RMT.
Golden Saucer type of place sure could be fun ^^
Also like I mentionned in a thread I created, I think that having to buy skills/spells while ranking up would be a good money sink. I really don't like how every spells/skills are just handed to us.
Additional skills and traits being learned from quests, purchases (gil or points), and equipment would spice things up, yes.
Miq'ote lapdance bars. Mmmm.
Exactly the problem that's facing us. I've been playing since closed beta, and made money hand over fist at launch. I was sitting on over a million gil without trying, so I wouldn't think twice about dropping 40k on a weapon. But the new people will have it much harder.
Just keep doing your leves and your main scenario quests (which reward some good gil to get you started).
