Yep. Three weeks of attempts, no go for me, no matter how 'good' (lol right?) I do at tanking it, people just die in phase 5. Tried going as a War dps last night with an experienced FC, made an ass out of myself continuously getting knocked off by landslide, I wanted to crawl under a bed and cry. Looks like I just get to wait til its nerfed or something. Very disheartening.

Made my day.Titan IS a terrible fight for tanks. There are spots you can stand on the rim so that the only time you ever need to move is when the arena shrinks. No bombs, no landslides, no plumes.... just mountain buster and tumult. I spend weeks just starting on the ledge looking down... wondering if I should just jump... all I could do was stand helpless as DPS and healers died around me. Wiping over, and over, and over again knowing that there was NOTHING I could be doing differently to change my fate. Watching my trust in others being obliterated day in and day out... eventually I jumped. Then I joined a guild with competent players and killed Titan on the first run with them.
Don't need a scholar, you just need good healers and DPS that can dodge stuff.
First time I've ever heard of the silence trick. I'd like to try it out sometime.
I need players in server Ragnarok DPS and healers that know the phases because its sucking each day, they say they know it but die at the start load of bs lol or they will blame the lag lol
I've never been in a single total pug Titan that ever got anywhere near completing. Most ended up dying before the heart phase. I stopped doing DF when I realized that the 2/2/4 composition is pointless for Titan since there's nothing to offtank (and there's no gearcheck so you'll get people in whites that are barely geared enough for Ifrit attempting to get carried through Titan like they did Garuda). I stopped joining pugs when I realized that a single incompetent DPS/heal can lead to a wipe and there's no real way to vet people for plume dodging skills without wiping numerous times.
Eventually, I just joined an LS of competent players that specifically puts together carry runs for people; we get a tank, 2 healers, and 4 DPS that we know can do the fight and get a random 8th from either a member's friend or a list of people that we have assembling from people who asked us for carries. The LS grows by inviting people that are actually good enough to do the fight and ignoring people that sucked at it. It's gone from being an LS that assembles Titan runs to one that assembles pretty much everything because we know that everyone in there is actually a good player.
Really, the secret to a good Titan run is actually having well vetted players. I started doing Titan on my SCH when it was in a mix of AF1, AK, and DL as a carrier healer and never had any issue so the gear requirement isn't even particularly high if people know what they're doing (silencing Tumults in p5 brings the gear check down a *lot*).
I find that Titan's success rate went up drastically when I, as a tank called out abilities as they were coming up in order for my groups to be more prepared for them. Granted you can't really do this much for PUGs (not really true, just need to make macros with different <se.#> alerts)... but for my FC runs as we clear it for more and more people's relics, it makes it a whole lot easier. That's what I do as a tank, I know the fight, and call out to help ease the anxiety some newer players may have coming into the encounter and help them learn the fight. it's pretty boring but it's a needed check to help improve communication and awareness for the DPS/Healer classes.
Just PUG titan as PLD offtank last night for my 3rd relic, not sure about the silencing but if your team knows what they are doing and dodge all skill except for tumult, it will be a cake walk.
In that fight, it is more likely healer carrying the whole party instead of tank. If you have good healer, your success rate increases a lot.
We need more this in the game.I find that Titan's success rate went up drastically when I, as a tank called out abilities as they were coming up in order for my groups to be more prepared for them.
