Let me get this straight.
Because you chose to challenge yourself a little bit by making everything yourself you are now demanding SE to make everyone else go through the same, even if we have another legitimate means of income.
Correct?

Lol I did this with 3 of my crafts when the server was still fresh and i was the first lv 50 in all because of it. I spent maybe a mil and a half total to level the, and made MANY more millions because I was able to hire other crafters to save me time.
TLDR: Mad cuz didnt think of it first.
Need somethin' made?

I wouldn't worry too much, OP. If they cba to craft their levels they won't go get the mats and craft the stuff it makes at 50. Power leveling a craft is no different than power leveling a war or magic.
Sell them their 50. Then sell them all the stuff they cba to make even though they have the craft to 50.
Probably cause he is maxed out already.
I wholeheartedly support the OP's suggestion and would like to have it extend to non-HQ items as well. It makes no sense that buying crafted items from the market or NPCs makes you a batter crafter.

No, it's not necessary. Just leave it as is. Is this hurting you in some way?
(not that i'm even using it, have you seen how much any of the HQ turn ins sell for!?)
It further makes leveing up really easy and devalues the meaning of your crafting level. One could argue that it also provides a tempting powerleveling option for gil buyers and thus also incentive to buy gil, but I wouldn't take it that far. Marketplace-bought crafting leve turn ins just don't make sense.
No.
No value added to game. Loss of profitable venture by higher level crafters. Levequests already gated by 6 per day allowance. Leve profit by making your own HQ items already a reward in and of itself. Levequest gil rewards maintain static value on certain crafting goods. Heavy use of development hours better budgeted on new content. To much potential for SE to fuck it up royally.

I'll cop to doing this on my Armorer - HQ steel and mythril ingots sell on my server for 20% less than the HQ turn-in. I went from 37-50 in about a day.
However, it's not a slam dunk. What ends up happening, is you get to 50 and then have no real gear to support the crafts at that level. My 50 armorer couldn't even come CLOSE to making any of the difficult 50 recipes. So, I now have to spend a lot of time either farming or buying the gear I need. Which isn't that big a deal, but it's not ideal either.
I think that this doesn't matter as much for peoples 2-3rd craft, but would really gimp them on their first craft to hit 50.

I was just gonna let this Post/Suggestion rise or fall on it's own merits (or lack thereof) and avoid responding to the many criticisms but I'm gonna break my tradition and say a few more words to help explain my reasoning for making this post.
!st off, I am not a maxed out crafter just trying to make it harder for everyone behind me to Max Lvl. I have 1 lvl 40 and the rest are 30's or below. However Crafting/Gathering is mostly what I do when I am on because I enjoy it. I do find it somewhat challenging to create my own HQ Items and it is certainly a major time sink to gather my own mats although I do buy some mats (even HQ's) off the MB if they are inexpensive.
Ok, so how are the "HQ Leve Turn In's" hurting me?
I believe that it hurts the entire game and the games economy. My biggest beef is with Gil Buyers. Yes the Gil Sellers are annoying but if no one was buying Gil, they would be out of business rather quickly. So I ask myself, "Self, what are people buying Gil for?"
Well I believe that the "Triple HQ Leve Turn In" is a major exploit that directly benefits Gil Buyers. A person can Buy 1-2 mil Gil, buy all HQ Items for Leve's/Guild Quests and level all the way to 50 without actually making 1 single item themselves!
To me this a major broken game mechanic. Imagine getting a DoW/DoM to 50 without every killing 1 single monster. I think it is ridiculous and just promotes Gil Buying.
As for the economy. I understand that crafters don't want to lose a major staple of their income but you have to ask yourself just who is buying those HQ items? On a Legacy World it certainly could be a rich 1.0 player that never did crafts and just wants to power level them but even then, why should they be able to? So they can use an exploit to get even richer faster? Even a rich player should have to do the work to level a Craft.
No, I think it is probably mostly Gil Buyers who are buying alot of the HQ items, using them for Triple Turn Ins, maxing Crafts in 1 week then turning around and making millions off of new gil buyers and the cycle repeats untill the whole worlds economy is in ruins.
Gil Buying hurts the economy (PERIOD), It injects too much money, too quickly into the economy, inflates Market Board prices and Deflates the value of everyone's gil. Sure some Crafters are getting rich in the process but in my view it is ill-gotten gains. It is in SE's eyes too and is why some peeps had their gil stripped away.
I think there would still be lots of gil to be made off of SpiritBonding and actual Character Usage for HQ items and of course HQ Mats. Remember, my proposal is to just limit Leve/Guild Turn-Ins for finished Items. I have no problem with people buying HQ Mats as long as they Craft the finished product themselves.
In any case. I am not demanding or whining. In the long run it's just a game and not a big deal. I just personally think this is an exploit and "not working as intended".
Also keep in mind that if SE did make it harder to level Crafts in the future. You lvl 50 Crafters will have an advantage and will make money. ;>)
