Yeah I've done 30 garuda runs this week, didn't really count the 2 weeks before. Never seen the lance drop once.
I have however managed to win the blm, pal, scholar and monk weapons. So at least the classes I don't play will be geared.
As a note, had 10 runs in a row where only DoM items dropped, they seem to be far more common (for me anyway) in Garuda runs.



One of the few times I've beaten Garuda and the Talons dropped to me when everyone left.
Did I mention Pugilist is still at level 15? Is SE telling me to drop PLD and BRD or something?

Something tells me that chart is a lie, being a collection freak, I am up to 36 Ifrit runs and have yet to see the axe once. RNG is RNG, you'll get it eventually of course.
I wish I could even run Ifrit that many times let alone get a drop. Every group I join something goes wrong. Just joined a game after waiting 40 mins just to have a tank leave upon it beginning and so the party disbanded.
I suppose this is not the thread where I should mention that the first time I killed Ifrit the Paladin sword dropped for me and the only time I killed Garuda the Paladin sword dropped for me as well...
That first idea is terrible. It's actually what we had when Ifrit first released. Know what's more frustrating than seeing 0 Ifrit Blade drops? Seeing them go to someone else every time, or seeing them drop on the ground because they went to someone that already has them.It's 2013, stop relying on RNG for these endgame drops. Make a chest for each party member with a random reward inside. Otherwise do what Blizzard did with heroics and add tokens for the unlucky. It still takes time to get anything but it won't be handing the weapons out like candy.
The token idea isn't bad, but honestly, we already have that for everything but weapons, anyway.
I feel your pain, OP. I needed the spear too.. And I had to kill Ifrit 3 times and Garuda even 6 times to get both of them. I think the game hates us.
In all seriousness, that's RNG for you. And the chances in this game aren't even so bad - a weapon drops EVERY time. The last game I played required you to clear a 30+ minutes dungeon, the chance of the boss dropping a weapon was not 100%, like it is in FF14. It was around 2%. Now devide the 2% by the amount of classes (I think it was 8) and there you have your chance of getting your weapon. And NOBODY ever complained and QQed about it. First, it gave people something to do, to look forward to and to grind for and not quit after 1 month. Second, if someone had that weapon people actually held on, viewed them, congratulated them. Third, it made people feel rewarded. A feeling that I for some reason didn't have when I got my relic. The amount of Ifrit, Garuda and Relic weapons in this game makes me miss my old game so much.

Well over 50 Ifrit kills in 1.0 and about the same for Garuda before I got the weapon I wanted. And I'm not even mad. The feeling when you get the drop makes up for the time. I hope they never implement another token system. Grinding for DL and AF2 gear is already horrible. Now we should be grinding tomes for our weapons too...?
