I want to look like a classic White Mage. Add the option to wear as a hood and I don't care if there is head gear already, give the option to remove it while the hood is on.

Honestly I hate the look myself, and it yet another reason why I wasn't in a hurry to get my warrior up to 50. Not really looking forward to being a trashcan. I like my face.
the armor looks fine... it's not a "trash can", certainly not just because it has a helmet. if you can't stand not showing your face that badly, then get the af1.5/relic/whatever you wanna call it.
^^^^^^^^^^^
This, a thousand times this. I literally will not wear darklight armor, it looks like crap, and the very worst aspect is that MY avatar that I spent hours creating and hundreds of hours working with is completely invisible. I don't care whether your artists feel insulted or something, by creating an end-game armor that is damn near mandatory you are putting your artists ahead of the customers. Let me see my avatar!
Um, no, it's a trash can with an unremovable visor, it sucks and there is absolutely no argument to the contrary. If Paladins are supposed to be noble saviors then why the hell are we supposed to run around in black and red tin cans that hide us?
Just throwing this out there. Warrior wears DL too.
I think /visor should work on every helmet and hood in the game.
I mean .. Why not?
You guys are trying to take a brick wall down with a wiffle bat. While I agree that Darklight body is atrocious by the helmet alone, the way the piece is designed to be a body slot, (while not impossible) it is difficult for developers to go back and code this in, especially with the giant grocery list of tasks they need to take on. Also if it is your main job as a PLD or WAR, you are likely out of the suit into AF2 or Allagan if you are going at a consistent pace.
What you can do however is give feedback and encourage developers to stop doing combination slots in equipment which hold us back for a few reasons. On the game play side, it affects as in say you have the tanking Darklight body and you obtain the Allagan body, while still in a sense technically an upgrade, you have no head piece to go with it unless you kept your ilvl60 piece. Kind of unfair in the fact that other jobs when they obtain a body piece, their head piece is not affected at all. On the cosmetic side, it holds people back in not being able to display the character's face and I am sure people here have made several statements.
Simply put, just let developers know how they should approach gear in the future, not change what has already been done.
Um, there is an argument to the contrary. It's called tastes and preferences. I think it looks fine. If you don't like the look, then don't wear it. I'll wear it happily. I'm not so in love with my face that everyone has to see it totally unobstructed at all times.Um, no, it's a trash can with an unremovable visor, it sucks and there is absolutely no argument to the contrary.
"Atrocious by the helmet alone?" so all headgear is bad? There's nothing particularly bad about the full plate helmet (other than the fact that it looks the same on all of them pretty much). I won't ever understand the headgear hate. While I totally agree that they should keep the multi-slot gear to a minimum, in specific reference to this gear, I cannot understand why it is so hated- it really looks just fine- very typical looking plate mail.

I'm surprised at how many people talk out of their ass with no idea of video game development and they want to discuss how hard it is to do something, like those that believe that in order to introduce new animations, they have to make thousands of variants of every single new animation because they think that the developers need to animate them with every single combination of gear, race, hairstyle, skin tone and eye color.
Uh, I don't really see anyone talking like that. This isn't even an animation related issue.I'm surprised at how many people talk out of their ass with no idea of video game development and they want to discuss how hard it is to do something, like those that believe that in order to introduce new animations, they have to make thousands of variants of every single new animation because they think that the developers need to animate them with every single combination of gear, race, hairstyle, skin tone and eye color.
