Please get Naoshi Mizuta to re-do this disastrous soundtrack

I actually dislike the theme Answers (although I like the lyrics). Mainly I dislike the vocalist, but also the theme is pretty simple. A harp in the background and some gregorians chanting at me... not that complex. It works though.

But many other songs are pretty much genius, like Twilight over Thanalan for example.

And the symphonic version of Navigators Glory is genius too. Perhaps Nobuo will never reach the same pinnacle he came to with Liberi Fatali from FFVIII, but most of the tracks for FFXIV are consistently good and probably superior to anything anyone else could and would have done.

I mainly get frustrated hearing this song because of how much you have to listen to it playing the game.


When I was playing FFXIV, I shut the music off but left the ambient on. Then I played FFXI music like:

The acoustic guitar used in that track is so beautiful and helps the ambiance and immersion of the game so much. The FFXIV sound track sounds too modern and explosive, it does not add to any immersive FF feel, to me.

while I agree that the music in FFXIV doesn't fit well with the game, I must admit that it is all impressively composed. Sure, FFXI's music may be more appealing to the game, but 14's soundtrack has more of an impressive sound (musically speaking) that would be good outside of the game.

I agree too many songs in this game have major synthesizer/electric guitar elements. Different from the classic epic music performed by orchestras but I like the classic stuff.

Also, what was he thinking when he made the Limsa town music?? Waaaaaay too intense for something you'll have to listen to for long periods. I seriously avoid that town like the plague because of its background music alone. (Yes, I could turn off music altogether but where's the immersion in that?)

Whoah now, 5-7 + 9 OSTs were good. He's way overrated though.

Personally, I find only a few places don't fit. Like Thanalan's music. Other than that, La Noscea and Black Shroud, not to mention Coerthas really mesh up. Nobuo did some good stuff.

Admittedly, I do really like some of the FFXI tracks like Run Magot Run, and Nyzul Isle, Ragnarok, and Iron Colossus.

But yeah, Don't talk Smack 'bout dear ole' Nobuo.

Oh, also, a lot of XI's most memorable tunes were partially composed by Nobuo, like Ronafaure.
