Crystal Tower, weaker gear than Coil, whats the point?

So Crystal Tower is coming out and from what I have read will have weaker gear than Coil, unless I am mistaken. So what is the point of this zone?
If you can go into coil in full DL with a relic and gear up there why bring out an inferior raid zone? Given that this game is devoid of proc items, there being a unique and useful item in there seems unlikely. Other than doing it to say you have done it why go there? Fun factor not withstanding. Even Allagan pieces seem lack luster compared to some pieces of af2. Most they seem to do is swap spell speed for crit or other bonus stats, acc, det etc.

CT was supposed to be in the game on release, but it wasn't completed in time. The later turns in coil definitely need some ilvl 80 gear as well, and that's what you get from CT. Sure you can already get ilvl 90 gear but getting it is heavily restricted. CT is also more casual than the coil.

Why release a new primal if it's easier than the extremes, btw? Because all new content must be harder than the previous content?

CT was meant to be in at launch and be a bridge between Titan and Coil. It was also meant to be on the duty finder, making it the pug-able raid while Coil is the the FC raid.

Tower is more casual and accessible through duty finder, Coil is not through duty finder.

New content is only added for the earliest adopters of the game. It's not like anybody who isn't to Coil yet or hasn't started playing yet could possibly benefit from this.

Maybe not everyone wants to do coil and at least want other options? AF2 and Allagan are different options depending on what the player wants/needs, or everyone will end up wearing the exact same thing, more then they already do (DL clones).

I'd really like to see Crystal Tower weapons. I just don't want to waste 900 myth on a +1 relic book (smn relic has spellspeed, ick) if CT weapons might be better. (Ideally I'd want the allagan book... crit+, but that's not exactly realistic in the near future).

Crystal Tower will be a nice stepping-stone to Coil, but also something extra to do. Allagan gear is so 'rare' because of the weekly restriction (and lack of people beating more than the first and second turn) that Crystal Tower would be a viable way to gear up your character during the week. Unfortunately, as Sove92 said... it was meant to be released earlier. If it doesn't come out soon, I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people have close to full AFv2/Allagan gear. =/

There are 8 other jobs in the game you can gear up in CT gear. Odds are you are only going to have 1 in Coil/myth gear.

Crystal Tower weapons shouldn't/wouldn't/couldn't be better than relic+1 as they're item level 90 and CT is suppose to be item level 80. Only purpose the weapons from CT would serve would be like the primals which is (vanity).

I just want to run in 30 seconds after the patch =) Queue into Crystal Tower and experience the dungeon.. the way it was meant to be learned... with everyone there for the first time, and no videos! (not to say I don't research fights when I can, just that this would be fun to actually have to learn on the fly) (I always skip cutscenes.. but if we're all there for the first time.. wow.. I might watch it)
