I'd just point out that Dissidia is a FF series with PvP, FFXI had multiple forms of PvP and Yoshida has stated there will be multiple forms of PvP in FFXIV:ARR.... so some of the requests aren't that far fetched.
Personally I'm a PvP fan and I played FFXI, but I never considered FFXI to be a PvP game and I don't really expect PvP to be anything special in FFXIV. If Yoshida can pull off Wolves Den and pull off the large scale GC vs GC PvP then who knows what PvP could happen in FFXIV eventually.
Oh, then we're both in agreement. I thought you were arguing the OPs comment about people wanting UNRESTRICTED PVP. Since Juubi has already made numerous posts and threads asking that the ENTIRE world be PVP. And insisting that he'll make 'high level groups' to kill 'newbs that are trying to quest'.
Thing is, SWTOR went free-to-play, something I don't think FFXIV will ever do. That tends to retain players or at least get people popping in now and then. Not to mention each class in SWTOR has a very in-depth interactive main storyline that provides more longevity to gamers who want more story content that XIV can provide (currently). Their PVP is also more fun, but I think that's more of a side issue. I could see SWTOR surviving (though maybe not thriving) longer in the long run compared to FFXIV for those reasons. XIV needs more expansion/story add-ons STAT, the way FFXI did. With each pack you get more areas, more story, more reasons to keep playing. Right now there's a severe wall that people are hitting too frequently and it's bringing things down for a lot of people.

"Well, it's no Vana'diel, but it'll have to do..."
I'm fine with unrestricted too.Oh, then we're both in agreement. I thought you were arguing the OPs comment about people wanting UNRESTRICTED PVP. I said there should be PvP Servers, not that all servers should have Open World PvPOh, then we're both in agreement. I thought you were arguing the OPs comment about people wanting UNRESTRICTED PVP. PvP Servers
RP Servers
PvE Servers
Perma-Death Servers
It's dull and generic, so it should aim to have what all other MMORPGs have? Now I'm not a huge PvP fan...I only like LoL. but PvP is a must in most MMO's this day and age.
Just to have something different in the air. If they want Open PvP/Perma whatever, fine.
But NOT in all servers. I just don't see this game having a strong PvP.
Just because it's Final Fantasy does not mean anything. It's a MMO up in competition with other MMO's in the world.
I won't even begin to speak how generic and dull this game is to be Final Fantasy, but I've beaten that into the ground for weeks.
The more things they want the better. As long as they give us an option I'm cool with it.
I'd rather have them focus on more unique things, like the armoury system. Not being able to change jobs/classes in a dungeon run, really?
I'm not fine with it. If I wanted a game with strong pvp centered play, I would have bought one, subscribed to one, and so forth. I came to this one because it did not have open world pvp. I afk for real life a lot and do not want to deal with griefing players on top of the occasional run a muck mob. Got tired of that in a couple other games real fast.
Why insist on changing a game that initially was created without it?

Dear Party,
Turn your wounds into wisdom. Stay out of the red so I don't beat you myself.
Love from your Healer, Jaine Deaux
