Well not always, FFXI had some fairly sexy female armors. Like that lvl 75 bard outfit (can't remember the name, it was a belly shirt though) I do think they should make the female versions of everything at least fit their figure instead of looking like a line backer lol but eh just a dudes perspective XDI can just imagine how many would flip out if they did add something like this. God forbid we get something sexy right? You know all Final fantasy armour has to be ugly or bulky! The only place a woman can't be a woman is in a Final fantasy game. You just wear men clothing or that's what it looks like anyways.
GW2 has the most hideous armor designs I've ever seen, the one you posted has some weird bug wings attached on the back of the armor and on the bottom of the robe, most people like it because it's one of the most revealing armors in the game.
From the games I've played, the one that had the most cool looking armor for me was in TERA (No, I don't mean the slutty armors) there are some really good looking robes and plates in that game. I remember seeing some nice looking armor in Aion too but never played it.
I guess it all comes down to our personal preferences on what we consider ugly or nice looking but I do agree that we could use more nice looking armor in this game.
You probably meant to say "The only place a woman can't be a s***"I can just imagine how many would flip out if they did add something like this. God forbid we get something sexy right? You know all Final fantasy armour has to be ugly or bulky! The only place a woman can't be a woman is in a Final fantasy game. You just wear men clothing or that's what it looks like anyways.
Seriously, for once we've got an MMO here that hasn't actually raised the sexism in gaming debate. Let's just be happy that both men AND women for the most part have armour that actually looks like... practical ARMOUR!
Arguments of practicality over aesthetics aside, why wings? This is probably the oldest request in the history of requests for MMOs, so much so that some company decided 'eff it' and made a game where everyone gets wings after a certain level (Aion). I never understood the draw, myself. I mean, really, if they do add wings to a set of armor they won't be functional, probably won't even animate, and will more hinder than help as the game has enough crap that likes to block the camera as is. Heaven forbid you should find yourself having to get against a wall or barrier. That's probably why they took the cape off Odin's armor for players.
Well since we're wishing for different armor designs here I'll add mine. I wish they could do capes in this game so we could have a more classic looking Archer/Bard armor.
Something like that or this.
But it sounds like anything with a cape is a pipe dream in this game so I would settle for that look but with just the hooded cowl on the shoulders with no cape.
I would disagree (strongly). Unless you are reducing women to only being things with sex appeal. Even then, this game has armor that caters to that, we just aren't forced into it.
I've actually been rather happy with the armor in this game. It's one of the first MMOs where the armor looks mostly the same whether a female or a male is wearing it. I use to hate in other games that I'd see a cool armor set on a guy and then get it myself only to find a plate bikini. I do like options though, so I can't wait for costume slots or transmog.
Sometimes I do want to be in revealing stuff, and there are some sets like that in this game. Other times I want to look like the awesome Paladin that I amI basically like having options.
