    For example, there's an exit in Limsa Lominsa where you see a bridge in front of you. Yet when you go through the dotted line indicating the end of the zone, you get a loading screen and all of a sudden you are standing at the other site of the bridge. What? Why can't I cross that bridge? I want to actually walk on it.
    The game actually used to be a persistent world with no loading zones except when you were entering/leaving cities or the market ward (which used to be a separate area completely). They changed it. I can't remember why, but I think it reduced the lag and allowed them to improve the graphics.

    I don't know if my assumptions are correct, but I'll go out and say it probably has something to do with PS3 limitations.
    Therefore I have my doubts that we would ever go back to open world. Which is a shame, really. A segmented world feels a lot smaller than it actually is.
