What if we don't expect to get our Curtana for a few weeks yet? Should I just bank the crap out of my Mythos until I can build around Heavy Allagan and get Darklight tin can armor? I hate the look but if its stupid not to them I guess I should go for it lol.I would suggest getting your Curtana+1 first before anything else. You can easily do Coil in Darklight gear and just work your Valor upgrades off of the drops you get from Turn 1 and 2. You can't go wrong with extra threat from the increased damage, even if you're not having threat issues.
If you plan on doing Coil, the most important stat is ACC and keeping it above 472 so you don't miss any combos. Figure out a gear path that will keep you above this number and honestly nothing else much matters. The extra damage from Curtana +1 is nice but generally not necessary as long as you follow your rotations and you only need about 5800 HP in a group to safely do all Coil turns except turn 5.

Not at my computer atm, but Valor Legs + Hoplite Boots should beat DL in defense as well. I believe by 2.
I got the Relics first, but if I could do it again, I would get Valor Body first. The Relic+1 isn't going to make that big of a difference, and the jump from Darklight to Valor/Allagan is much more significant. An optimal rotation will let you keep threat better than just relying on Curtana+1's damage boost.
By "BP" I assume you mean Body piece. In that case, they're pretty much equal. Valor gives Determination while Allagan gives Accuracy. As long as you're over 472 Accuracy, you won't be missing anything. Right now I have Allagan Body and I wish I had Valor instead because I have over 500 Accuracy which isn't doing anything for me.
Edit: The only reason why I +1'd my Relics first is because they're cheaper and I got them sooner, and I held out for Allagan gear. You can do the same but honestly Curtana +1 isn't nessecary at all. HS+1 is very nice to have though.

Honestly you should have gotten chest before +1 shield. +1 shield and sword on paladin is next to useless.
+1 sword and shield will increase your damage by 2(not worth it) and your hp by like 100. Upgrading your chest piece and using a hoplite helmet will increase your hp by around 250. Myth chest and legs are the best upgrades from the shop that you can get. Lets not forget that it pretty much doubles your parry rate.

I wouldn't say +1 Shield is useless, as it's actually really really good due to the block rate and block strength, but the upgrade is from Darklight to Valor is much stronger.
Yup, the block rate and strength increase with Holy Shield +1 is huge and easily the best option you can spend Tomes on.
AF2 body, gloves and boots I think, allg head and pants, any way get body first, then gloves

Best purchases for Mythology would be your Valor Chest, Gloves, Legs, Shield +1 unless you get shield drop early from Coil (Turn 1) and Accessories. (Bracelet and Ring) Your regular Curtana will hold threat from Allagan + Relic+1 DPS.
Do NOT get boots. The Allagan are better and fairly easy to get. Valor Boots are a waste of 495 (2 weeks) of Myth cap.
That's cool. So, you're saying tanks only need ~454 Accuracy to never miss? Because that's well below what I keep hearing is needed.I'd refer you to http://xivdb.com/?wardrobe/1596/Paladin-BiS-9-11-2013
Looking at your post: I'm about to hit 495 seals myself.I'd refer you to http://xivdb.com/?wardrobe/1596/Paladin-BiS-9-11-2013

Should I get Valor Head to replace Hoplite, or go for gloves and hold out for Helm?
