    leveling in XI is so much easier now. i dont see why people have quit before for the mere reason that the level cap increases. Sure, there's gonna be higher level gear to attain but also with that comes new content and an extension of gameplay. there's always more challenges/storyline/ to explore and different ways to do it. Older challenges may become easier, but of course, if necessary, revamps play an important role of checks and balance in 11. Also, customization in gameplay of many old and new and upcoming MMO's has been a main focus.

    there are many ways of defining skill, it seems many dont understand what & just plain hate the word.

    Proper skilled players know how to play the job / class, knows the enemies weaknesses, Mob skills & when they are about to execute a certain skill & therefor being able to counter attack, evade or disable the mob & its attacks.
    Thats how you properly define player skills, that also includes pressing buttons at a proper time.

    i lol at people ignoring player skills just cuz they think they're the shitz cuz they pressing some buttons & yet they dont freakin know anything about the mobs they fighting or even care what it does next, just blantly mind their own buisness.

    Like a few days ago, some of my members got accused of being bots for Duo'ing the Gob NM....
    lol it's not their fault if they skilled enough to being able to duo a mob wich some other LS needs
    several members to take down, i know most my members since beta & i know they not botting,
    lol... botting... thats lame.

    No im proud of my members being as skilled as they are that way we dont need a huge LS member base to get shit done.

    So ya imo skill comes from knowing alot about what you are doing, what u should do if w/e,
    and also know what your LS members will do next etc... that's player skill.

    Side Note:
    Some people also dont seem to understand the diffrence between Bots & multiboxers.
    A player who multi-box is not a 100% botter, just cuz that player controls several accounts dosent
    mean that player is botting at all. (if you think that you might aswell go hide under your rock again)

    Executing commands / actions at the same time over & over again, etc... thats a botter.

    Wow, that is pretty sad that people were accusing them of being bots just cause they were duoing gob. People in my ls were duoing gob BEFORE the nerf, heres proof

    Now after the nerf you can solo gob, and pretty much any of those nms (Buffalo and Mosshorn might give you a bit of trouble though). Those nms are a joke, I can hardly call them nms. And hopefully Yoshi will add some hnms and ones that require real skill to kill.

    Because FFXI in its EQ-timesink-copying glory would not have held a candle to the likes of rift and WoW.
    FFXI was hard and it was ok for that time but soon dumbass wow came the challenge of mmo went to easy mode.
    I'm starting to get tired of seeing people say crap like this.

    The "challenge" in FFXI was having enough time set aside to get anything done. If you weren't the "right" job you were stuck waiting for hours for a party. Same thing for missions, because everyone went for the "best" and "most efficient" strategies, nevermind how you felt or how you preffered to play a class that due to the developers' screw ups in design turned out to become unpopular. There was no skill involved because all you had to do was stack stats against everything tossed at you by swapping gear mid-combat. And things that are supposed to be features and additional things in the game were designed to be inconvenient to the player to create more timesinks. Timesinks and stat stacking do not make a game difficult.

    Now try and tell me why things like Sarth+3, Firefighter and Alone in the Darkness were easymode.

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
