So how much DPS do you guys do on the dummies?

Since I'm apparently the lowest DPS BLM in this thread, I went back and redid my parser (FFXIVAPP). Same stipulations: about 5 minutes of doing single target DPS, no potions, food, party member buffs, no inflating my DPS by ending on Flare or double Flare, waiting a bit until after two sets of Convert + Raging Strikes so I'm not ending on a particularly high note.

Total Overall Damage: 87,679
DPS: 264
Accuracy: 100%
Damage Crit Percent: 12.80%

Gear:

Relic+1
HQ Vanya Hat with CHC and mostly accuracy
HQ Vanya Robe with almost all CHC + 1 Savage Might III
HQ Vanya Sash with Piety IV, CHC, and ACC (last slot will be filled later)
DL gloves and pants
AF2 boots
DL accessories + AF2 ring

I don't think I could stretch this higher without good proc luck. I even have a few pieces of Piety materia (in slots where I can add no more DET or CHC) to ensure I can always Thunder II immediately after going into UI3 after a Swiftcast Thunder III.

If you don't have Piety materia, and you start your string with Swiftcast Thunder III, then do your standard Fire -> Firestarter string until Blizzard III, you can get locked out of Thunder II and either have to Scathe/Blizzard I or wait a few seconds to recover MP.

Monk w/ relic, full DL armor + AF2 boots, random 55/60/70 accessories; i65 or 70 gear overall.

245 DPS over a 3 minute period using FFXIVAPP (245 was best over a few tries).

Standard monk rotation with B4B, PB, IR, SP and HF when available. Could have been tighter on the DoTs and CDs. At the 3 minute mark I'd already burned through all my TP + the TP from an invigorate.

Bard DPS should be a bit lower on a target dummy than most other classes considering we can do 100% of our DPS regardless of how much movement is required on a fight whereas other classes can't, not really surprising.

This is true, when my BRD friend and I parsed together on training dummies, his DPS was lower than mine, however I am melee and most boss fights require me disengaging or repositioning which usually makes his damage higher than mine in real fights.

Also another thing to consider is DRG disembowel buff and how it applies to BRDs. My friend was parsing around 230 on his own, when I went to his dummy and just Disemboweled it over and over, his DPS went up to 260. To me, this is what tips it over to BRDs possibly being overpowered, when you combine the earlier point of never really being forced to stop DPSing ever and benefiting 15-20% from a debuff from DRG which actually puts it slightly ahead of my DPS (240-250).

God I love people that make excuses first before figuring out that perhaps a 20% dps increase on a 80 sec cd might impact dps.

This is also why I absolutely never take these forums seriously; everyone acts like an expert.

I like the part where you seem to think a 20% DPS increase with 20% uptime (read: an overall 5% increase) somehow accounts for up to a 30% DPS disparity, and then get indignant about people doing the same.

I logged in just to comment on the utter hypocrisy of this post.

As a Monk wearing Relic+1, full DL except for peltast earrings and a hero's ring of striking (i think) I ended up at roughly 235-240 dps before running out of TP (using invigorate and everything). Interal release was used as often as possible, but I didn't have Blood for Blood at the time of testing.

Honestly, I don't know how good that is in relation to the gear listed but I don't think that level of DPS can be maintained during encounters as you'll probably be dodging stuff.
