Gaining quality during a synthesis increases your experience. Most of the HQ gear you get for crafting lets you get much more CP, control and craftsmanship than you get from vendor gear at a much earlier level. Therefore, if you use HQ gear while leveling a crafting profession, you are saving yourself a ton of time and buying/farming materials, because you get more experience per combine (assuming you make your own stuff for leves, etc).

It works the same way with DoW, though more indirectly. If you use HQ gear--if you make your own you save money--you get better stats and kill stuff much, much more quickly than with vendor purchased gear. Thus, you level faster.

45k for a peacock ore? sure! I'll make money off crafters as much as possible while they don't realize these facts.
Who told you once Crystal Tower is out, they wont add new recipes (ilvl80) for crafters to match Coil drops ?
Are you an idiot or something ?

Hmmm let's see what crafting gets me.

    -Constant cash flow.
    -Can repair my own gear.
    -Meld my own gear.
    -Craft my own gear.
-More ingame objectives to fulfill for a complete game experience. You won't see me burnt out and making posts about lack of content the first month of release. Those posts are laughable at best.

This all equals self-sufficiency. That in itself should be the goal you would think.

Yea.... What's the point of crafting again? LMAO!!!!

    You people are funny.... LOL

For my DoM job- Well it's not that useful.. I got DL for tokens and AF2.. none of which needs to be melded.

I am also now selling token crafting pieces for lots of money to crafters.

Why am I crafting? I really just like tradeskilling and the cool outfits. Is it really that required/amazing? Not really. But I do like having something to do besides run the same dungeons over and over again.

I am glad there are crafters to buy those token crafting ingredients, though.

45k for time you don't spend griding tomes when you already made several mil from crafting is really nothing. Also i would hope as new content comes out crafting also gets new content.

Other than the time you spent lvling where if you were smart you made money doing anyway... You can take 2 mins to make an item someone pays 50-60k for. I personally thank the people taking even half an hour of their time to grind cm and ak for their tomes.

Yeah but it's 30-45k each.. and the recipe call for like 8... so that is at least a half a million per recipe... /gag. But, whatever works. It seems to work for crafters and dungeon runners. I know that I have to get my weekly myth cap, so might as well make some money, anyway.

I made my helm and chest without grinding so i could use the tomes i do have for gear etc. Not having alot of time to play because of work i try to maximize my time. 500k for a vanya piece seems like a lot but its relative. I have plenty of money left over to the point where i can turn a profit off making and selling vanya and use my tomes for getting other things. Rather than taking the time to grind out an extra 1k tomes or whatever is is for the dk chest.

For me it was an easy choice. What else is there to do with money anyway? Less cm runs for me!

Actually its no cm runs, i just use the tomes i get from grinding ak unless i need to finish a spiritbind.

You are correct. Crafting is fun, but very flawed and unbalanced in comparison to combat classes.
Crafter gear is handed out left and right for quest rewards making crafted gear almost unmarketable. To change this, quest rewards and vendor gear should have been lower quality then crafter gear.
Grand Company daily craft provisions should not give xp to crafter classes unless you actually crafted them. For example, a lvl 50 bard should not be able to go to market and purchase all the items for his Grand Company turn ins and then get xp toward his crafting classes. This is unfair to crafter classes and makes no sense on top of it. I mean, theres no way for a leather worker to get xp in combat classes without engaging in combat right?
Gathered mats also have no value early on, since most of them are sold by vendors.
Crafting is so fun, it is just frustrating to craft gear, only to see folks selling the stuff on the market for or less than vendor prices.
    More crafter love pls devs.
