    Tips for Picking Up Adds

So, I'm a Warrior and I've been running AK and CM pretty regularly, decent amount of DL gear (buying the ToM Helmet and ToP legs tonight after one more run). Anyways, I frequently find myself OTing CM speed runs. I've had a few groups where people are really complaining about the adds on some of the bosses, especially the first two. I guess I am looking for some tips on a better way to pick them up. Currently, I've been running to the biggest group, OPing them, running to the next with flash along the way, OPing that group, and repeat until all three groups are on me. I've been using steel cyclone on one of the groups as well. Last time I did this whole rotation, the MT wouldn't stop complaining about how I was doing nothing. I've had a lot of good, quick runs this way as well. Sometimes, it makes playing pretty miserable, but I would like to improve if there is something I am missing. Does anyone have any tips for a better way to pickup lots of adds from different locations?

Take corss class Flash from PLD it help. you can make a run pass add then flash. (if you got a good aim, 1 flash should grab the add in the area.) after you grab all the add spam overPower. that should be enough.

Tell people to bring adds to you.

Have the MT tank the boss in a spot that you know adds will spawn in anyway, thus eliminating one loose pack.

Always pick up casters first (especially BLM mobs).

Always fight on top of caster mobs once you have them all rounded up.

Off tanking CM through DF is hell. Unless everyone brings the adds to you (especially during the boss where you protect Cid) you're going to have to go around rounding them up yourself. Personally, when this happens, I go for the regular melee ADDs first (usually with a quick Flash), then I bring them over to the casters ADDs, hit Overpower 1 or 2 times, bring those over to the healer ADDs, hit Overpower 1 or 2 times, then cycle through with my HS>SS>BB combo. The easiest way to deal with this is having both healers stand on the side of the ramp that the MT isn't on, that way all ADDs go directly there and you have an easy way to pick them all up. For every other boss it's just a matter of running to one place, flash, run to the other, target, overpower as many times as needed. Also I would recommend telling everyone that, during the final boss, the ADDs won't get off you and that the best thing you can do is bring them to the MT so that you, him, and all the DPS can AOE them down as fast as possible.

But yeah, this is honestly just how CM is. It's the worst dungeon to go through as WAR, especially through DF. I've heard (but haven't experienced yet) that 2x PLD is a lot more annoying, though.

Just make everyone go to positions to optimize the pickup.

On the fist boss make the healers stay close to the back since they are the most important. Stand on one side by the door (it does not matter) as soon as they spawn use flash then op and run

toward the other group and repeat. Then pull the pack as close as you can to the boss w/o getting hit by his cones. Only two stacks of adds If I remember right.

Second boss make your mt tank @ left door so he can grab those adds @ the left door. Make your group step on the left side of that pile of rocks by the door. You stand by the back where the

force field is and when the back ones pop you flash / op the others will automatically aggro and start to funnel towards the group. Since your group is positioned where it is the mobs will

basically run right to you. Meet up w/ the flash / again and take them to the boss and Aoe down. Rinse wash repeat.

Third boss is very similar. Mt stands @ the front corner of that room by the metal gate. He should get the first 3 before the boss. If there are 3 big squares on the ground if you stand close to

side between the square by the boss and the next one that first group of mobs will spawn there. You just flash and run straight ahead to the next group and grab that w/ flash op and the

others will funnel towards the group and you just pick them up. Just rotate you hate rotation w along w/ flash now and then and you should be fine.

The way I do it might not be exactly how a lot of people do it but, I have yet to hear any complaints.

Thanks for the suggestions, and equally importantly, the validation that this strategy works and people through the DF are just really whiny a lot of the time. Is it true that OP generates more hate than flash?

For the 2nd boss I usually contribute to DPS with Defiance off, then when I see the ADDs spawn at the door we're at I pop Defiance then run to grab the others. Have plenty of time to get those before they get to anyone. Only real trouble is the 3rd boss and I imagine PLD has more trouble with doing this method since their DPS revolves around an enmity combo.

AFAIK, yeah, it does. The advantage of Flash is it's circular and you can use it and then run, whereas with OP you have to stick around.

I have never looked into what has more hate. OP is a cone based hate move and Flash is a 360 based hate move. It can let you grab hate on a passing mob w/o having to

turn around that instant. Most would say that op is far better @ holding hate but, as far as the actual numbers I don't personally know sorry.

OP and flash are both good to have. OP use TP and flash use MP. if u can line up all Add then OverPower prolly ur best bet.
but if u want to quickly grab adds then flash is ur best friend, because you dont have to stop and cast(animation time), it can be use while u running.
