Wrongfull suspended for 1 week, then gil removed. SE CS does not want to know.

Ran into a jerk this weekend killing Dark Devices mobs to trigger fate early to prevent people from getting exp. They claimed it was in "protest" of this issue. They did this for hours and hours, all night long for several nights.

It's unfortunate if this happened to you as a player- being a complete jerk to other players doesn't make anyone sympathetic, nor does it "punish" SE. So, if you are mad about this issue, please don't go throw temper tantrums on your server about it.

SE making a mistake is bad... acting out like a petulent child over it should be a wake up call to ask yourself what you are doing with your life.

Then why are the mid-high end crafter's etc who had 5-8mil when we were suspended and 10mil+ now after the week, still able to keep their gil?

Everyone is somehow effected by RMT gil, including you.

By your logic you gil should also be divided by 100, along with everyone else who has traded or used the market.

Maybe they just arent part of the 7000 accounts that were effected. 7000 out of 1mil players is 0.007 out of the playerbase. Many companies in the MMO industry also look at things like exploiting the market/bugs etc and determine their actions from that. If you just sell stuff casually without making an abnormal profit most companies wont see it as exploiting, but selling things for very high prices so early on in game will raise some flags.

Thats why many are unaffected, since many of us have just sold stuff very casually as a side effect of mining/killing mobs/harvesting.

Chances are you've been effected more by the RMT/bots/cheaters than the rest. There is a reason why it's only 7000 accounts that are effected, and most of those are RMT accounts. The leftovers were in the 600 range or something, 0.0006 of the population.

I'm not saying you did something wrong by intention, it just happened to end up that way. SE can do very little, it was alot of wrong gil circling the market, it had to be removed.

367,700 million split over 7000 accounts is roughly 52528571 per account. Sure most of those likely sit on RMT accounts, but chances are high that many of the accounts that got suspended and reinstated with reduced gil had taken huge benefits from those marked gil. So your logic is flawed by saying everyone should be divided by 100, since only 7000 accounts got flaged i.e 0.7% of the total accounts. Since they have singled out so few accounts, chances are quite high they have done some good research.

I'm willing to bet that quite a number of those 7,000 players were, in fact, legitimately banned or had gil stripped. What puzzles me is the inconsistent manner in which gil was removed, which only serves to underscore lordjoosie's point. I've no doubt in my mind that there is a very, very small numer of those 7,000 players that were legit in their activities (albeit outside of the norm, considering how many hours they must've devoted to this game already) Putting aside opinions on whether or not playing this game in such a hard core way is a good thing, SE needs to re-evaluate their procedures and possibly look into investigating protested accounts (mind you, not automatically refunding them their gil, etc., but merely to just have a second look to make sure they didn't flag the wrong accounts)

I've seen perfectly legitimate Free Companies with members who bot, hack or even spam RMT ads. And I've reported whole Free Companies as well (they were owned and run by RMT) The game right now is so infested with RMT, I feel sorry for SE ... they just need to hire more people.

What should have happened, is during the suspension, they should have verified whether or not people cheated. If they did, perma ban. If they did not we're sorry, here's all your items/gil back and the 7 days you paid for and couldn't play.

I can't argue with anything in particular here, but the official word from SE is that players had unauthorized gil removed. Therefore, the folks who netted me about half my gil total through a relatively small number of transactions are suspect by SE's own statement.

You are correct that the case is probably as you laid it out, but this is not a conclusion we can come to with official statements alone. Which is why we need more official statements, because I do suspect the reality is as you laid it out.

I think we agree on most everything. The only part I think you're mistaken, is when you read "had unauthorized gil removed" you're assuming they meant that there was "dirty" gil on your account, and it was removed. In fact what they're doing is accusing you of being a gil buyer. Since they decided it would be too much work/ or were unable to determine how much gil each individual bought, they just nuked everyones to 1%. This is where the problem comes in, because in an automated system there will always be false positives. By skipping the step of verifying each account, they guaranteed that some innocent people would be effected. I assume they realize this, which is why they didn't just outright ban.

I personally don't necessarily want an official statement telling us what system they use to pick people, because it'll make it easy for cheaters to avoid the net. What I would like though is for them to stop disciplining people without verifying they broke a rule. We prepay for the time spent in the game, and if that is going to be taken from us we deserve to have them take the time to make sure we broke the rules before taking our time away.

SE don't seem to realize that it hurt their player base even if didn't get hit by this. It shows that if you ever got a issue, you will most likely get no help at all.

Can't believe they are ruining such a great franchise.
