While some of those points are reasonable, comparing this game's content to WoW and Rift which have been out for years is complete nonsense and for this you lost credibility.

For me ff14-arr does not bring the same feeling as i have had on past final fantasy games. ARR seems a bit too mainstream MMO to me. MMOs that i do not really like are those that feel like playing on payed beta servers, and unfortunately ARR fits in that category.
Game is 1 month old. WoW is terrible. Go play WoW
They can be seen on the character's Loadstone page. Example of mine.
Everytime I come on these forums i'm amazed by all the childish talk on here. The OP gives strong points and examples, I agree with him on the biggest part. He shares his thoughts in a proper unoffensive way (of course he compares xiv to what he has played in the past, who wouldnt do the exact same if in his shoes).
But these kind of comments like "Go play WOW" "Dont let the door hit you" etc. etc. Its like trying to discuss with 6 year olds and gives a very wrong overall image of what the FF community is like. If you cant come up with decent arguments then you should just stay away from these forums.

Points might be valid per se, but comparing a game which is 1 month old to WoW is really dumb.Everytime I come on these forums i'm amazed by all the childish talk on here. As if WoW was the beast it is now the first month of release.
As if WoW did not have server problems.
As if WoW had decent PvP at the start.
As if WoW was balanced at the start.
Please, stop comparing apples to oranges and you might get a decent response.
WoW was also launched 12 years ago.Points might be valid per se, but comparing a game which is 1 month old to WoW is really dumb.

This game is not one month old. It is a re-release of a game they messed up horribly a few years ago. Sure, there has been a lot of changes but that does not make the points he made any less valid. Comparing an MMO to another MMO is comparing a Granny Smith apple to a Red Delicious apple so his comparison stands. The battle system for this game is quite a bit like Rift. Which borrowed very heavily from WoW for some of the base things, similar to FFXIV. The difference is that it's not cartoonish like WoW and it's not trying to sell sex appeal like many of the other clones were.
While on the comparison note, there are still absolutely NO MMOs that are similar to FFXI pre-abyssea (I stopped before this so I won't comment on it) even to this date. Because of the media that went with WoW's success (it was media power that FFXI lacked and not so much the membership), many other MMOs tried to copy it. There are other differences but that deviates from the debate.
I'm a crafter Jim, not a Warrior! I don't want to fight as a Warrior just to be able to craft!
