Did I miss something? (Somewhat spoilers)

So after making it from the bringing to the end of the main story. I really don't remember seeing the merchant you travel with in all three intros to the three city states. Is he somewhere in the story and I just completely missed him? Or maybe is he secretly Odin trolling me? I don't know.

If anyone can shed some light on this, I would appreciate it.

He was cheering with the crowd in the Vesper Bay building thing and you could talk to him.

He does make an appearance

It's actually 3 seperate merchants, they're triplets. The merchant you personally encounter appears in the waking sands in the early part of the game and if you talk to him he'll mention offhandedly that he has two identical brothers, but he hasn't seen them in a long time.

I guess that just seems kinda like a letdown. I was hoping that he had something more important to do than just have a quick cameo. He doesn't need to he me the keys to ultima weapon or anything. But sitting down with him at a bar at the end of the story and tell him of your adventures would have been a little better.

Just seems like a wasted opportunity.

Aww. I was hoping to see him again too, and it sounds like I've already passed the point at which I would have and simply didn't notice. I has a sad now.

To avoid making another thread I will just ask it here. Those of you Legacy players. Do you have any slightly different quest dialog that acknowledges that you made it to 50 and through the calamity?

While going to Garuda for the first time, my char went back in time and gave Cid his goggles.. Cid asked my character "was that you?" and my Char nodded..

what the fudge was that about? how did i get the goggles, why did i go back in time WHEN did i go back in time?

I'm interested in Edda! Can you see Edda anywhere? The conjurer that was bad at healing and got her party leader killed and now carries his head around? o.o; Or that girl you save from the umm....rapist...merhant? >.>; Do they have more stories?

As a legacy player i find it weird that he recognises me as i'm pretty sure we don't get the carriage cutscene at the start.

There are a lot of these in the ARR story, sadly. I had thought Squeenix was supposed to be a good storyteller, but... Come on, that cop-out with <Lahabrea spoiler> was just absurdly cheap and disappointing. D: Here's to hoping that Alphinaud's sister gets a more interesting story than <Lahabrea spoiler>.

I do agree that the triplets could have come back for something a bit more significant, but then that might touch the border of overly campy.
