That's not quite the same as "People with a whole lotta gil are gonna be suspended."http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...095a614312461a

I'm just amazed that NOTHING has been posted by Square Enix regarding these suspensions. Is this the normal business practice for them?
It appears that way...
So far this game seems to have the worst Customer Support out of any game I've played (where I have needed to contact support), this includes quite a few F2P games.
bump for justice.
You haven't played Mabinogi then.
I have yet to play a game where the customer support (GM's) did anything within minutes unless *non disclosure agreement*, which means you're better off name-and-shaming them on youtube. It may not solve anything but when people look up "how to hack FFXIV" top hits are people seen exploiting it, instead of instructions how to.
I've played/beta-tested pretty much every MMORPG that has been released since 2008. Prior to that I was always too busy to play them post-beta test. Of note:
SW:TOR - I think the storyline was good, but the gameplay was too generic WoW knockoff. No Customer support
Star Trek Online - I think this was a good attempt, but the gameplay was a WoW knockoff other than the ship-to-ship combat. No customer support
Vindictus - No customer support
Wizardy Online - No customer support
In fact The latter two games have equal or worse problems to FFXIV.

I've not, I'm not saying it's the absolute worst CS out there, but it is certainly very poor by comparison, from my experience at least.
Looking at what's happening to players with hacked accounts really shows how bad this is to be honest.
Yeah, this is nothing new, and completely consistent with the lack-of-action taken on freemium games that I played.
I'm sticking with FFXIV for now, because it's still cheaper than playing a feemium game. That said, if they don't start having weekly reports on banned accounts, then I'm going to assume that they are trying to sink this ship. A whole lotta good it will do when paying subscribers cancel because they don't want to compete for resources that the bots are monopolizing.
It makes no financial sense for SE to be attempting to sink the ship purposefully. They redeveloped the game after it's expensive and abysmal launch.
