    There are a few types of MMO:
    1. Gridding or Hack&Slash – FFXI, Vindictus
    2. Action – Dragon Slayer, Ys, Diablo
    3. Sandbox – World of Warcraft, LOTR, Everquest, Aion, Tera, etc.
    FFXI was not a hack&slash. just putting FFXI and Vindictus into the same category...ugh
    World of Warcraft, LOTRO, Everquest, Aion, Tera are all Themepark MMOs.

    Ultima Online and Star Wars Galaxies were sandbox MMOs...
