Digital River != SE.

SE's customer service is not shit, it's gotten a lot better over the years and I have never had a bad experience. The CSR in this thread did exactly what I would have done, and gave out correct information, was completely helpful and truthful, it was the customer not willing to accept the help, rather than help not being given.

They've promised that I'll get my money back, but how many other people paid online with visa debit cards and won't notice their money missing? It's ridiculous.
I paid with a visa debit card and had no issues. I had a $1 hold, like everyone, not just debit card users, would have, and everything was fine. In fact, generally debit cards should be run as credit for safety reasons, unless you are at a grocery store or other similar place and want cash back (as you can't get cash back if it's run as credit).

Just because you had one experience that didn't go your way, doesn't mean that their CS is "shit" all the time, and most of the time it in fact isn't. People just complain very loudly.
