It sounds like you're talking about the lvl 34 story mode Titan. Everyone else here is talking about the lvl 50 hard mode. Also, at 50, Storm's Path still only heals for 100-150. It also costs 20-30 more TP to use than every other ability. Cure I with 5 Wrath stacks is normally going to get you 800+ heals depending on healer gear. So yeah, it is ultimately a pointless ability as it stands now.
In the Final phase of hard mode Titan, he has an ability that will hit a WAR tank for ~4.5k damage. He also generally preempts this with a ~2k damage cleave + his usual melee for ~800. Storm's Path and Bloodbath aren't doing squat when all that happens in a 3 second window, or even over the course of the entire fight given healers will be needing to keep you topped off because of the aforementioned moves. There is no time in end game fights where damage is so spread out that anything but Inner Beast can do any meaningful amount of healing.

as it should. Also, 120~150 EVERY 7 seconds, with a chance to crit every time. My previous point still stands. All you guys care about is a number. You don't know what "over time" means.

hola's doesn't do much but post trollbait, but yeah he's right. The most I've gotten out of Storm's path was 400 on a Berserk Crit. After that, it went off my bar to sit next to Holmgang until it made itself useful. >.<
There might be a use for it... but Bloodbath has a greater HoT and that's not even saying much.
So far the only content I have heard of that a WAR just can NOT tank is Coil turn 5. Is that 1 reason enough for you to not play WAR? if so then you obviously don't play WAR because you like the job... Also DRG was always good(the wyrvrn did kinda suck though), the buff they got never changed any of that, just the stigma around the job diminished. FFXI was an elitist game really. I see no reason why this will be any different. However, playing with friends to enjoy the game would mean you get to try new things and find ways of making it work.FFXI was a good game, but FFXI got NO balancing. i was DRG, and i could wait 5h for a EXP Party, all BLM, WAR/NIN, SMN/WHM found EXP Party easy, DRG was just to bad. SE needed 4 Years, til the DRG got a Buff....
What should i doo now here in FFXIV as Warrior Tank? should i wait years til they do something, or should i reroll on Paladin?
I love tanking with 2hand Axe, and i also love to get the hits, and the idea about selfheal. the Problem is just, there is no selfheal. (besides Inner Beast)
SE said once:
Paladin is a Tank who reuce incoming dmg
Warrior is a Tank who conter incoming dmg with selfheal.
Atm, there is no Endgaame Boss whre you can say WArrior > Paladin.
Atm it is just everywhere Warrior < Paladin.
This sounds exactly like what Yoshi-P said. To show off you would play WAR. I agree though with the mentality of "why would you pick this job over that job" logic. Though you may prefer a PLD over a WAR does not mean that a WAR is incapable of doing it. That is pretty much what all this whining is about. PLD can do it easier. I agree, but that in no way means a WAR isn't a good tank.Wrong I joined in rise of the zilart for your inofrmation. Two the problem isn't that warrior can't necessarily tank certain content its that I as the healer am not going to actively make my job more difficult. A warrior is harder to heal in every situation and every encounter. Why would I in my right mind choose the tank which increases the chance of failure for a party. As I told my friend when helping him get his relic for titan. When you get a warrior tank you are essentially requiring absolute perfection from the group, because "any" mistakes results in someones death. Whether that is the tank or the dps which generally means a wipe.
Trying to actively state that warrior is capable when skilled is like looking at one half of an equation and saying i've found the answer. You haven't figured out anything because you aren't looking at damage taken as well as if they've died or not.
As a healer I flat out will ask for a warrior to not be taken when i'm healing. I have a 50 warrior and I realize that this statement is a betrayal of a class I love, but i'm also practical and considering I don't want 1000 wipes I will choose whats optimal for my parties success and a warrior is so far from optimal that I would rather wait 30 mins to find a paladin than take a warrior screaming for that same 30 min period.
I generally prefer to have MNK or BRD as my DD in parties I tank and a SCH for heals, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't take a couple of lancers and a WHM. So far I admit that PLD looks like the better tank, but, whoopdy-doo. Play what you enjoy. Content can still be cleared and that completion satisfaction can still be had No matter the tank. If you wanted it to be easy I think you picked the wrong company to play a game from.

I'm not talking about story mode, and this isn't my first character. If you have less then or near a max of 7.3k total health at level 50 on hardmode titan and your healers don't have time to max you before he fires it (HE GIVES YOU SO MUCH WARNING!!) you are very bad at the game and have terrible gear. Also, you can immediately convalescence and fire every one of your self heals from monk and WAR the second it lands. Your "issue" isn't an issue.

Why are we picking one over the other? you have access to both.hola's doesn't do much but post trollbait, but yeah he's right. The most I've gotten out of Storm's path was 400 on a Berserk Crit. After that, it went off my bar to sit next to Holmgang until it made itself useful. >.<

Endgame bloodbath should only be used with vengeance, in my opinion.
The point is that it's a rotation. The timers are different for a reason - and I find that balancing the abilities to provide you better overall defense over time then doing reactionary ability spam will always work better.
Slow and steady, be aware of your surroundings, learn the abilities and play well. Every single thing people have said "is hard" in this game, I have found with my free company to be "not hard". I can't WAIT for ultimate mode bosses so I can actually be challenged.
