I think my horror stories are just the same terrible tank following me to make me miserable. It is either a paladin who only uses shield lob (seriously) to get hate or a warrior who doesn't use defiance.

The second is my favorite, especially when as a scholar my fairy and I have more HP than the tank. First time I ever rage quit. If you can't hold hate on one mob (not boss) from a healer you need to rethink your class choice, especially at lvl46.

Ours..Titan premade group most claiming to be great having tons of experience...whm has great gear one piece of afk most is ak/dl gear we get just passed the heart, the tanks absolutely refuses to pop his cd's to save himself then blames the whm saying she was undergeared and whatnot, takes 3500 dmg without a crit...after he proceeds to kick the whm out of the group saying she was to undergeared...i'm so tired of tanks and dps being inept and blaming healers or saying they lagged when they simply sacrewed up

I'm only level 27 but i've had one or two horror healing stories!

Totorak. I got in an already formed party. Previous healer had left shortly after first boss so no biggie.

I quickly realized what it was that probably drove the previous healer away.

Freaking tank was just blindly going forward, aggroing lots of mobs together and of course, going through the webs without waiting for the rest of the group so he was alone on the other side, aggroing a big group on himself while I was stuck on the other side of the web with the 2 dps.

Sure the web is quick to break but when Tank is far away with 8-9 mobs around him, even sprint can't get me there in time to cast cure.

And then tank rage quit because i didn't heal him in time -.-

Ah, idiot tanks, I've had a few...

I had one who only used auto attack.

Another wouldn't help get aggro off me. (Attic Bats in Haukke Manor)

Last one freaked out at quit when I mark'd him, he was hard to see, so I put a square on him. He went kinda freaky and logged out.

3 Duties with either no mage equ or ALL of the mage equ stolen by "pretend" replaceable mages, and then what do you know I find myself lv39 almost 40 wearing truly trashtastic gear. FML!

I made the dumbest mistake. I was working pretty hard the whole time but we made it through with no problems but I was thinking, damn, my heals aren't very powerful. I realized AFTER the last boss that I had cleric stance on the whole time. *facepalm*

I had a tank who I am pretty sure was a bot. Prot had worn off and he'd run into boss fights before I could re-cast it. Constantly circled around mobs while auto-attacking. Never responded to party chat. Never used a single hate-generation skill.

Same instance and the tank dropped (we were about to kick him anyways, but kudos to the super patient group I had. We'd wiped about 3 times on the last boss and decided then we should kick him, but he left so whatever)... New tank gets in and says it's his first time doing the fight. He's a pally. It's one mob. He can't hold aggro. Doesn't move out of the thing that whallops you. Doesn't get the boss out of the slime. DPS tries to help by asking a friend for a good hate-rotation. Gets insulted by the tank. Timer runs out...

I'm going to change it up with a story about a GOOD tank in a situation that was just unlucky. This Warrior in my FC named Elnid is awesome. He had gotten me through the Garuda story battle (after a couple tragic PUGs including one with an undergeared Paladin who took several wipes to learn how to dodge her attack that does 2000 damage) and he basically danced on her face. I kept bracing for things to start blowing up and instead I blinked and she was already dead.

So he invites me to run Aurum Vale with him. We both know the dungeon, the DD don't. No big. He's great at explaining and they're not great but not terrible. We get to the second (Cyclops) boss and everything goes well for a while until a little over halfway through they dodge his big swing too slowly and both the tank and the melee DD drop, with the boss now turned on me. I quickly go into butt-saving mode and start circling around the room, trying to kite him behind me while I work my way back around to the tank. I reach him and pop Swiftcast+Raise and keep moving. Once he can take a heal I throw a Regen and finish working my way over to the DD for a slow Raise. While I'm doing this the tank falls again going from around half health to 0 in an instant.

I take off running again, pull the Cyclops around the room and make my way back to raise the tank again, I finally pop Shroud to dump hate and get enough time to bring him up safely. One of the DD dies again and I run to a corner to heal saf- no the tank died again. I throw a couple more cures at the DD still standing and charge around the room again, but at one point the Cyclops gets me against a corner and I'm caught in the AOE swing. I start to kneel and kiss my butt goodbye but I get a MECHANICAL DODGE and take no damage. I Swiftcast+Raise to get the tank up a third time and a short while later the thing finally dies.

I hate Cyclops so much.

I healed Darkhold yesterday and that's one of the easiest dungeons but it was bad with this party.

Tank decides to stand there eating hits. I saw this during trash but when we got to second boss, he/she still did not feel like moving out when warned to do so and dropped to 188 HP after those multiple red hits at once. LNC & tank died.

So we try again. Tank is still not moving out of red, LNC & tank die again. Me and BLM are left, I res tank. Tank decides to run around like a chicken the entire time instead of grabbing aggro and tanking. BLM cannot hit boss from tank running around. I am OOM and get hit by boss since he didn't grab aggro, died.

We also wiped several times from trash in the beginning because tank is not grabbing aggro off me. BLM never bothered to use sleep even when tank pulls a mob of 6 and we are all dying.

Moral of the story: I should have left sooner.
