whats going on in this thread im scared
this sums it up.Kilta your killing me here..
Why attack the OP on a basis of sexism? I would hope everyone knows what sexism is and i would also hope that people are aware that the Male class is definitely dominate in our social structure. However the OP never suggested the fact that she did not think sexism existed or that it did not affect games.
The OP's suggestion was half hearted it sounded like it was posted in a humorous roost, but she also believes in marketing strategies ("sex sells" is in fact a marketing strategy). The OP's ideas in no way reflect sexism in Final Fantasy XIV. The developers of FF XIV have done well with avoiding sexist tendencies by allowing a great deal of equality between genders. All of the OP's suggestions are not inclusive of the whole game; if you don't like whips fine don't use one; if you don't like slutty outfits fine gear up in some chain mail. Everyone forgets that slutty outfits are not inherently sexist, it is when you only allow that gender class to wear that said outfit it becomes sexist.
As for your problems with people because you are a girl/women, i have heard that this is a problem in a great deal of MMO's and my heart goes out to you. However taking a cynical view that everyone that hits on you is a pedophile or a pervert is a dangerous road.
Also if you really see skimpy outfits or dresses as sexist then make boy versions of them too so guys can cross dress. Or include skimpy male outfits (-cough elzen M undergear cough-)
I made this thread in a light-hearted manner, but pointed out that the strategies i laid out would also probably be effectual.
Also whats with all the pedophile comments. There aren't that many pedophiles. I was one of the richest people on domo for a while and never had any guys trying to cyber with me. and even if they do, that doesnt make them a pedo. all you have to do is say -no-. You don't need to go crazy and get offended by it.
junvilnile reply is juvinile. ya.. tons of pedo do exist i suggest going to the sex offender registry and see how many registered pedo there are. And how "rich" you are is an mmo is really of no importence. Chances are those who look to cyber are pedo. That is infact how they target people. I played domo too and ppl didn't take no well.this sums it up.

You are aware of what a pedophile is? and that the sex offender registry far exceeds just pedophiles?junvilnile reply is juvinile. ya.. tons of pedo do exist i suggest going to the sex offender registry and see how many registered pedo there are. Honestly bled though. I did take a few marketung classes and if someone blurte out what OP wrote... it wouldn't end well. Most companies who soly sell on sexuality tend to be failed products they that have to resort to that. OP is making childish suggestions w/o out any real world experience and is infact sterotyping "what girls want". Most of the f2p mmo ads are tacky and tasteless. And sexist.
Just to proove pedo play mmo several years ago a kid down the street from me was playing WoW, he met a guy over on the game who got creepy. And started demanding lewd photos and actuakky showed up at the kids outs demanding money or nakid pictures. The mom answered the door and the guy pulled a gun on her said his demans but then ran off.
Tell me you did not just make up some crazy, outlandish, and far fetched story (lie) to sell your point.Honestly bled though. the fact I had a pedophile day care instructor and found me self in thypy for 12 years of my life, yes I know what a pedophile is. They can be found under the sex offender registry. Can you stop twisting what I'm saying...... There are things I am right about. This is saddly one of them. Cybering isn;t an of thing, being asked to cyber is harrassment the fact OP found it "ok" just proved how imature they really are and cluless on the real world.
But I agree, sex and sheap slutty stupid crap doesn't make a success. In fact, it usually has the opposite effect.
nope that was on abc news in 2008. look up WoW stalker and gun on MOM should find the news story it happen in a down just down the street from where I live or abouts. I just wrote nwar me for a short hand term But no it really did happen. I do not make crap like that up since I was assulted by pedophiles as a child.
