BLM or DRG?

Hey guys,

Im in a dilemma, I don't know which DD I want to be. I got WAR to 50 and doing Titan fight 100 times, I dont like the feel of WAR at end game now. I want to dps, but I dont know which way to go. Are BLM more heavy on dps? I liek the fact tehy are ranged, but I also like how DRG looks and their jumps look sick. If they are equally geared do they do pretty equal dps?

If you want ranged I'd go for Bard, they have a lot more group utility with silence and songs and they do more dps than BLM or DRG. DRG edges out BLM a bit if DRG can stay in combat longer which usually isn't the case.

Not exactly sure where Ricauer gets the idea that DRG "edges out" BLM in DPS. DRG is currently the lowest DPS class in the game, which is an undisputed fact. I'd definitely go BLM over DRG, but agree that Bard is probably your best bet. They're the most popular DPS pickup in end-game raiding. That being said, most coil groups are looking for at least 2-3 bards and 1 BLM. None are looking for DRGs.

Pick the play style you enjoy best because right now there is gear missing between primal HMs and Coil because of the lack of a certain dungeon that is supposed to be in the game but isn't yet.

Pick the class that has the more appealing playstyle and aesthetic to you. People who pick based on highest damage output are just FOTM rollers, and if/when that class gets nerfed they're out of luck stuck with something that they might not really prefer and that isn't top dog anymore.

Opinions vary more widely here than most other MMO communities I've seen. Best thing to do is just try out different classes and see what clicks. For example, I loved PGL at first and wasn't crazy about LNC. Now at 30+ on both, LNC just feels better to me.

I dont know what DRG youve been playing with but it is def not the weakest class. If you have a guy that knows what theyre doing, has good rotation using buffs/debuffs, then DRG can be near the top. We had a blm, mnk, and 2 drg and push phased garuda every time. There is no weakest class, just weak players.

drg is not the lowest dps class in the game by far lol monk is drg is one of the highest single target dps in the game if played right

2-3 bards due to song stacking and stupid DPS (which will get nerfed eventually, that's a fact).

That being said, play what you want. Make sure you enjoy your class. That's more important than picking what's popular or currently in demand.
