Can't continue story after garuda

I teleported with my party after the Garuda fight and now i can't start or find the quest to continue the story any farther. i can't get back to were you need to talk to Alphinaud after getting off Cid's air ship. i had just finished the lady or the vortex Quest. can anyone help plz

Not 100% sure if this will work but try it.

I think you can get back to that area by going to the Airship Landing area in New Gridania. Talk to the ticket NPC to get to the Airship Landing area and hopefully Cid and Alphinaud will be there. Talk to them to get back to the Garuda entrance area.

i have tryed there is no way to get back over there the npc will not let me.

You need to be high enough level, then there will be a new option that takes you over there into the story area.

i am lvl 49 you only have to be lvl 44

walking sands, alphinaud is in walking sands.

I want to say I had to goto Uldah's airship landing for the npc's. The character I wanted to turn in the quest with wasn't 44 yet at the time so had to hunt them down later and they were in a strange place.

i have tried that also. alphinaud is not there. i never started the quest right after garuda i just completed it.
