As someone who experienced firsthand the debacle of RIFT's opening few weeks, I will forever be very careful placing all of the blame of hacked accounts on users themselves.
I was one of you once - I believed that if you keep your information private and you have a security token that there's no way that you can get hacked. And then RIFT came along and proved me wrong.
I was hacked and all of my items were taken from me. Come to find out, Trion itself had a breach in the security system wherein peoples characters were compromised. It was at NO fault of the users at all in this situation, and trust me when I say that when Trion finally went public with this knowledge that those of us who knew we had done nothing wrong were vindicated and those that were staunch defenders of the "users must have done something wrong" policy were silent.
I am not saying this is the case with SE, all I am saying is that placing ALL of the blame on the users is silly. You don't really know.
Your comment is irrelevant as I've already filed a formal complaint with the BBB regarding SE's piss poor customer service. I want people to know how bad SE's customer service is, ESPECIALLY the upper management in Japan. I'm hoping if enough people file complaints they will at least be able to see the complaints that people are reporting. That's definitely better than doing NOTHING.

First of all, let me define hack for you:You fail to protect your login credentials, get hacked, and go to the BBB to complain?
It's not SE's fault you got hacked...
And that thing with chat support is common if you have popup-blocking enabled.
Also, they DO send an email explaining why the account has been suspended...
"To gain access to (a computer file or network) illegally or without authorization"
So apparently to you it's your fault when someone does something illegally to you. Nice.
'That thing with chat support' has been reported multiple times by people WITHOUT popup blocking enabled, myself included. I've experienced this first hand, twice after 5 hours of waiting.
As for the email, I myself never received such an email. So again, first hand experience.

lol..Steve Martin in a movie said "OK lets come back from LA LA land". In this day and age one would be a fool to blame the victims ever time. BBB can do nothing it make one feel good is all. Make this simple... Contact SE.. keep trying till you get someone. They will help they want to help. There is only so much they can do know that up front. Know its just a game. You came in with nothing you leave with nothing. Its one of the easiest MMO's to date so getting what ever you had back will happen.
This is just a game.
Some of the hacked accounts aren't actually compromised. There is a bug to be addressed where the game is losing items during zoning and logging. Typically, if you have been hacked you are unable to get in since the hackers change the passwords. If you are able to login and you find stuff missing, you were probably hit with a bug.
PS I have used the BBB before, and all they are is a group who helps mediate. They cannot demand or force a company to change. And depending on SE's response, your down rating to SE could be ignored. Assuming SE responds.
It's also just a game people put time and money into, its like someone stealing your car. Or other personal property.
The BBB no authority over any business. Do you know how many complaints Blizzard gets? Just answering the complaint helps no matter the outcome lol. Most never follow through. So going to the BBB will do nothing ever. An account hacked is NOT SE fault. For you can not proof you didnt go to some gold site (which most Gold sellers dont do aka hack) or just gave your account info out just to come here and complain or torrents blah blah balh. Yes things people places get hacked all the time but.. who are you? What do you have to offer?...lol your not a target. SE can find out easily if your account had been tried over and over to get access. So two password protection was not good enough for you yet it is for hundreds of thousands of other players.... so you see?
Yes sorry you got hacked...its a game...move on.
The most I had to ever wait was 1/2 hour. Now just like any other MMO if you are on a very heavy server....sorry you will have to wait. There are things people never read when they buy a game. Go back and read all it and then see what you really have rights to. Sad but they make sure its almost nothing
So yes it sucks.. yes they in my eyes did a bad job of not being ready for all this since they be here done that kind of thing before. Yet BBB can do nothing never will they have no power over anyone or anything.
