Why would I ever bring a DRG to a party?

Highest Burst of the game.
Constant DPS and DoTs.
2 Stuns, one instant.
Disembowel debuff.
Slow debuff.
Mobility.
Lots of utility skills like ranged attacks, gap closers, gap openers, AoE solutions, parry off-tanking in some situations.

Also this whole DPS discussion thing is getting ridiculous. You aren't wiping because you brought a dragoon, you're wiping because either that dragoon is bad, someone else in your group is bad, you have bad communication, or your group's gear isn't high enough.

Its really that simple. Bring the player ._.

They have the weakest DPS, and their only utility is a piercing debuff that buffs their and archer damage, but not enough to make up for their lower DPS.

MNK has the same amount of stuns, but also has Mantra and more DPS.
BRD has songs, and more dps
SMN has instant res and more dps
BLM has apoc, CC, aoe, and more dps.

Other than a lack of anyone else, why would I bring a dragoon?

And the information that every other DPS class has more DPS than a Dragoon is based on what? On anecdotal evidence? On emnity? Or on unreliable parsers? You do know that the first two are not a good way to measure DPS and that there is not a single functional parser out there?

aka how do we even know bards are top dps, maybe its mnks, smn's or drg's. sure brd is easymode faceroll not affected by movement, but as classes get closer to being played with perfection im willing to bet brd's get left behind (also this is just my opinion, but i think they will scale less effectively than other classes)

Mostly AF2 armor, better STR bonus, and relic weapon.
