Trade in unwanted primal weapons for tomestones?

So, with the current system, I can run dungeons that give me tomestones, guaranteeing that I'll eventually get the best gear in the game.

Meanwhile, I'm stuck using a crappy weapon until I can get one via tomestones because the primal weapons are based off luck?

That does not make sense to me.

Agreed 100% lol, have done ifrit more times than I care to mention, and have yet to see one PLD weapon drop. Ah well, at least I'm getting tomes in the process of grinding for a subpar weapon that can net me some awesome gear guaranteed.
