You should have a scroll lock button even on a laptop, but it should be activated via the Fn key. As Laptop's by definition shouldn't sit on your lap because they get warm and can causing burning without you realising it as it's not *hot*, err, digressed, as laptops have smaller keyboards they should share keys so you may find your Scroll Lock is activated with Fn/Numlock - but that may vary and I'm too lazy to go check my laptop.
